Nikon d3100 flash wont pop up

Hi, i recently dropped my nikon on a concrete bathroom floor in a hotel and thankfully my uv lens protected my lens but unfortunately not my pop-up flash. i can dislodge the pop up flash myself and it will fire every time i want it to, but whenever im in auto mode, macro or manual and press the flash button, it does not pop up. i just got this camera 2 weeks ago and dont have insurance on it or the time to wait 4 weeks for it to come. thanks in advance.

If camera shows no sign of abuse, play st-pid and take it back to where you bought it and tell them unit is defective and you want to exchange it for a working model.

This happened to me too!
Turn the dial to setup, push the menu button & select reset all. This will restore the defaults & let you use the flash again.

SOURCE: Broken Flash on Nikon D40

If your under warrenty it can be repaired for free. If not, it still can be repaired. Go to Nikon's webpage, they will send and give you your steps to sending your camera. Once your done, make sure to get insurance on your cam and tracking number so you can follow it to its destination. You should get it back in a few weeks depending on how held back they are. Best luck.

Hi My Nikon D5100 camera giving a sin of Autoexposure error. Contact a Nikon authorized representative message after it's drooped from my tripod on the deck floor (Wooden Floor). The Nikon55-300mm

There is no way to really answer this question as the camera was dropped. If it was dropped with the lens, then the problem could be either in the body or the lens (or both). If you have another lens try it and see if you get the same result. Otherwise you are probably going to have to take it to the shop or send it to Nikon

Stuck flash

There is a button on the left side of the camera with lighting bolt symbol push it at the same time helping the flash up. Keep the lens cap on when pushing the button.

Nikon d3100 taking blank images

The problem could be the imaging sensor in the lens housing, this will require a camera technician to find the extent of repair that is needed.

Autofocus Lens for Nikon 70-300 1:4-5.6 AF25-166-4553 is mountable on a D3100?

You didn't specify the make of the lens. Assuming the lens has a Nikon mount then yes, it will mount on a D3100. The big question is whether it will autofocus on the D3100. The D3100 does not have an autofocus motor, relying on the lens to have one. Not all lenses do. Nikon designates lenses with an autofocus motor as AF-S. Other manufacturers use different designations.
If you need further assistance, feel free to reply to this post and give the make of the lens.

Will a Vivitar 58 mm UV filter attach to a Nikon d3100 18-55mm lens?

Not directly. The 18-55mm takes 52mm filters. However, you could purchase a 52-58 step-up ring to allow you to adapt the filter to the lens for significantly less money than a 52mm UV filter. One such adapter is http://www.adorama.com/IRXRA5852.html

How do I fit the Hoya UV filter that I have been sold with my New Nikon D3100?? Darent be too heavy handed as new to this. Thanks.

The filter doesn't go onto the camera, but onto the lens. Assuming it's the proper size, it should just screw into the threads on the front of the lens (the end away from the camera). If the lens hood is on, remove it first.
