Either you have the server name incorrectly setup in Outlook Express, or your internet connection is down currently. Check with your ISP to fix this problem.

You are receiving this error because of one of two reasons:
1) Your email account is not set up properly. Click on Microsoft Outlook, click on Tools, then Accounts. You will see a window with columns stating Account-Type-Connection. If an account is set up then click on it then click on Properties. Click server tab and you will see the SMTP server block and the POP3 server block. Both of these fields will read as follows: pop.XXXXX.net and smtp.XXXXX.net. Your Internet Service Providers name will be in the XXXX. If these are not set up properly then you cannot connect to send email. If they are filled out correctly then you need to call your Internet Service Provider and inform them of your situation. Their server is not working properly.

Don't forget to 4 star this solution.

The host 'PoP3"means what

Make sure your password and server name are correct on the email account, and make sure the server you are useing for outgoing mail is a pop3 server. Your provider for internet services may not be a pop3 server on your outgoing mail, it may be a smtp server or something like that for outgoing mail. Check in your email account properties to see what your outgoing mail server says, incoming and outgoing can be different depending on your supplier.

I get this error when trying to ''Send and Receive'' email using my computers Windows Mail. The host 'pop3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account:...

It looks as if the server name is not complete. where is your email coming from? you'll need to know that and the email server (for example: mail.ptd.net for penteledata customers). Or, pop.gmail.com for gmail users. Get that server, then go into your account settings and put the server name into the Incoming Server blank. once you do that and save it (also make sure your outgoing server is correct) you should be fine.

Error message when using my new Microsoft Windows Mail program-

You are supposed to put the fully qualified domain name of the mail server in the SMTP server field, and the POP3 server field, like mail.acmellc.com and pop3.mycompanyname.com. Contact your mail service provider if you are not sure what the server names are.

The host 'reynolds4242' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Subject 'hi', Account: 'reynolds4242', Server: 'reynolds4242', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,...

Seems you are using outlook to send your email. You might just have clicked their "mailto" linked that's why outlook popped up with the recipient's already written.

If you don't have your own email account, you can't you outlook to send email. You better sign up with yahoo mail or google mail then continue sending your email.

Anyhow, if you have your own email account, you must have setup your POP3 mail server and SMTP mail server correctly. It somewhat looks like this:

POP3 mail server: mail.yourdomainname.com
SMTP: mail.yourdomainname.com

hi Dtaillandier,
Please follow this link in which there are details of why you are not able to send/receive emails or why you are receiving errors.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514 this is for outlook/outlook express.

The socket 11004 error also means Valid name, no data record of requested type. The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for.
hence try these steps,I would request you to reconfigure your Account settings for the email server. This should resolve your issue.
please revert for any questions : [email protected]
Good Luck.

Can not send e-mail

Have you made any changes to your pop3 server?. Look at your option in outlook it is under accounts. And check to make sure the server setup is right for your email. Most times the mail server and pop server are the same. Like
incoming pop3 (server whatever.com)
outgoing smtp( server whatever.com)
