SOURCE: internal flash not working on olympus e500

The Xenon flash tube in modern strobes rarely 'burns out'. I would guess that a switch that is activated when the flash pops up is not working properly. More info can be found here: http://forums.steves-digicams.com/olympus-dslr/159660-e-500-built-flash-not-working.html

My xd card will not stay in on my olympus e500 digital camera. It just pops back out.

I have exactly the same problem with my Evolt E-500. Very annoying and I've tried everything, and there's nothing in the manuals to advise about it.

No power?????

Not sure if this will help, but it seemed to fix my issue......I used a freshly charged battery. Removed both xD and Compact Flash memory from the camera. Powered on. You will see the menu flash and read that there is no card inserted. Power down. Place memory back in the camera. I can't explain my issue. The camera may have gone into a stand-by mode until the battery died and it just needed a reset? Anyway, hope this can be of use to someone. =0)
