There should be a plastice hinge cover on the left top hinge on freezer door. Take it off and press the plug together firmly. Try that and let me know, Sea Breeze
Your model has an electronic ice maker part number Click Here=> WR30X10093 When the electronic ice maker fails you usually need to replace the complete ice maker. You can test the ice maker by filling the tray with tap water. If the water freezes aand then drops the ice then the water control on the back of your refrigerator is the reason. The water control valve is Click Here=> WR57X10032 Either way let me know your results, Thank You, Sea Breeze
You have a stuck micro switch in the ice maker. Try taking out the maker and remove the metal plate 4 screws and you will see the switch that work on a cam rod. I believe you will find your problem. BB
Jim, you will need to replace the heating element and most likely once this has been replaced, your ice maker should work properly unless the ice broke another part on your ice maker.
ice maker for ge profile wont' make ice.Unplugged elect supply from both waterin the door coil and ice maker coil.Plugged water in the door elect to ice maker valve coil and pressed water in the door input sw out front and got water to ice maker so this let me know it wasn't the solonoid valve.Got another ice maker unit plugged in and mounted waited several days still no ice.
The
refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one
for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that
the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself. Another thing that could cause it would be
the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not
call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check
the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking
more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or
thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.
I had the same problem where one of the solinoids in the valve- the one controlling water to the ice machine had stopped working. A good test is to pour water into where the ice cubes are made. If ice cubes come out then the problem is most likely in the valve. I replaced my valve for the second time in 8 years today and the ice is comming out nicely.
