Digital readout pad keeps cycleing

I have a Norcold that the digital display pad just keeps hunting up and down the scale from AC-LP- ECT. It won't even let me set the temp. Is the Digial read out board shot. It was new two years ago. 400.00 dollars.

The fridge had been working just fine. Went to turn it on and it started searching for a power source like it always does but it just kept searching. The power is on. The light is on in the fridge. The freizer seems to be cooling. But it will not stop at AC or LP. When I try to set the temp it runs up and down the numbers and will also not stop at any set number. At one point I herd the gas burner kick on then off. But it never stops searching. The mother board on the front of the fridge has been replaced about three years ago. I tryed turning off the AC and seeing if it would stop on LP. It did not.

I still think it is searching for a power source. I have a parts breakdown and a troubleshooting guide I can copy and e-mail to you.
Send me an e-mail and I will e-mail the info back to you.

Norcold 6162

I'd be calling Norcold & asking if they are aware of this problem, the very least they can do is put you on to a reputable repair man to fix it.

Norcold model 1200LRIM. Unable to select AC or LP mode. Auto is only option. Fridge frequently quits in Auto mode. No error codes. Display just goes blank. Battery connections are good; voltage is good....

Try to unplug it from the battery a few hours and then plug it back in and see if you are now able to select the AC or LP mode. There has been a recall on the 1200LRIM, The defect is a potential cooling unit leak caused during AC electric mode operation. Click on the link below to read more:

Digital readout not readable

Try a new one. If it works, the scale is broken.

While working on ac switches to lp with no warning.

If the incoming AC voltage falls too low, it does this to maintain cooling capacity. It will also do the same thing if voltage gets too high.

It might also indicate that the control board is detecting a problem with the heater element. Are there any faults or check lights being displayed after it switches to gas?

The numbers on the digital readout are partly

If the display is showing "partial digits" on the display, it means a scale is excessively shaken (sometimes during shipping) it's possible for the LCD to become partially separated from the PCB (Printed Circuit Board). On many models you can gently press on the LCD and it will reconnect. However on many scales it's difficult to reach the LCD (without removing the cover) and thus the scale will often have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair.
