it is not a scam .then why did you bought it ,i did on my magellan maestro 4000 the firmware update and map but this unit does not come with turn by turn like the old roadmate700 which gave the option to turn on or off turn by turn voice.but what can you do that is life. regardless you must go to magellan website and do all the Upgrades and Maps

Hi,
I also have the same problem - the yellow power jack has broken connections. I fixed it by soldering it back. In my unit, the connection pads under the external power jack were intact and I was able to solder the jack easily. The audio out jack nearby has also come-off the PC board, along with the pads. I am not able to re-solder these back. Since the audio jack is part of the speaker circuit I have lost the text-to-speech function!
