I am having issues with my printer having a communication error with my
computer. Whenever I try to print or scan from the computer, the error
"Communication not Available" comes up on the computer screen.
I
have removed & installed the drivers many times, I have reloaded
the USB drivers many times an run the DELL patch from their website
many times, all with the same result. The drivers I have been using are
both from the DELL website and from the original CD, both with the same
result. I have also turned off my firewall temporarily, still with no
luck.
Last night I spent 4 hours on the phone with DELL, and all they did was exactly what I have already done.
Is it the printer, my computer or is it something on my computer OS that is blocking the printer?
I am running Vista Home Premium on a DELL computer.
communication problem
will not print.
Found on another forum. For 926 this worked great.
1. Go to Control Panel - Printers : Delete 926 printer
2. Go to Control Panel - Programs and Features : Uninstall All Dell 926 related software. There should be 3 programs. (When prompted to restart, respond to wait.
3. Rename Folder C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\DRIVERS\W32x86 to W32X86OLD
4. Now restart your computer
5. Reinstall 926 Software.
This worked terrific for me.

I have gone through all troubleshooting procedures listed and even bought a new cable. I still get the same, "problem communicating with the printer" message.
Exact same issue here, have done all the above and am still getting error.
The exact thing has happened to me, and I've spent days trying to fix the same thing.
