I purchased the proscan model PLCD3992A-B and when I was able to buy (what I thought was the same) out-of-box tv a few days later I got it because I was so impressed with the first one. It hooked up fast but I was not able to get the remote to work with this second tv even though it would work on the first. When I went back to the store I noticed there was a different looking remote and the clerk allowed me to take home to see if it would work. It did! Thats when I noticed the model numbers (as shown above) were different. The stands are also different whereas one has 'feet', the other a 'solid' base. Now I am really curious as to what are the other differences that I am not able to see. Is one better than the other? Is one a newer model? Exactly what are the differences between these 2 models Proscan models PLCD3992A and PLCD3992A-B Thank you for your time
There are a number of possible differences which is why one is a A and the other a B model.

Thank you. I did solve my problem with some diligence. The instructions from Verizon were correct. I realized that there are two buttons on the Verizon universal remote that look alike - the "play" arrow and the "fast forward" double arrow. Once I used both of these buttons in the proper sequence, reprogramming the TV remote with the new code worked.

can be removed by unscrewing six phillips-head screws from the back panel. A
plastic insert plate is provided to cover the bottom hole that is left when
removing the stand.

doesnt show how to remove it but might be helpfull for your settings
