Anyway, if the keys type and the ink isn't showing, the problem seems to be with the ribbon. If it is not advancing, the keys hit the same spot repeatedly, no ink. If it is advancing, there may be a

However, this could easily turn into a fiasco of the type where someone opens up a watch and thinks they can repair it. They don't have the tools nor the technical skills. That's reason enough to call the manufacturer for warranty info and/or support.

If space bar doesn work. then the space bar is failed keyboard. If letter keys move and work, space bar is failed.

If the typewriter has a Dead Key Disconnect make sure it is set for normal typing.

It sounds like the print solenoid cap is broken except for the printwheel not spinning. the caps are available for 20.00 including shipping and instructoins. The code not working may be a keyboard for a keyboard rebuild contact Geo. Beyers Co. @800-392-8085.

There is a lever in front of the right knob that is used to lock the carriage.

It is pretty common for the pad on the solenoid to strike the keys wears out, and for the batteries to be dead for the memory. Your machine probably needs a good cleaning, oiling, and a new pad for the striker. about $100.00 in the shop.

I found the owners manual and turned off the language key. This let everything work as it was suppose to.

There is a plastic cap on the print solenoid plunger that is probably broken, they are available but a little tricky to install.
