Cant read disk(DVD)....

Everything works but the dvd player can not read dvd.

The laser may be dirty or out of alignment. Will the player read CDs? Buy a cd/dvd cleaner and try it. These are simply discs that have a little area on them that you put a drop of cleaning solution and then insert into player. If you are mechanically inclined, you can try opening up the player and using some rubbing alcohol on a Qtip to clean the laser lens (if it is accessible).

My dvd player says no disc, with a disc in it , what does that mean?
Means it cant read the disk.
Either disk is faulty or your heads need cleaning or you have inserted a type of disk it cannot read ie a rewritable one.

Is the disk a copy of something?, you may have an older dvd player that doesn't recognize some of the newer formatted disks

Cant play anything on it
I had the same problem, After googling for a few minutes I found the reset procedure for this player.

1. Turn it on.
2. Eject any disk you have in there and close the tray.
3. Hold down the "STOP" button on the player (not remote) until the green light flashes red and the system reboots.
4. Insert disk and enjoy.

This worked for me... mileage may vary.
