Quinny Speedi SX backrest

Last year a friend of mine bought the Quinny Speedi SX for my little newborn. As my child has grown (13 mo), she now wants to sit fully upright. I can not figure how to make the seat go up. I have seen the manual and how the backrest works but still it doesn't go FULLY upright.Do you suggest anything? TIA Evangelia from Greece

  • Anonymous Dec 30, 2008

I too cannot get my Speedi SX to sit fully upright. My 13m old daughter looks like she's laying down all the time! I have pulled the cord at the back as tight as it will go but it still looks like she's at 45 degrees! help?

I read the manual and the quinny speedi does not allow the child
to sit fully upright. I am glad that a note was posted on how to figure get around this little problem. Will have to try the velcro.

Question: How do you fold this quinny speedi!

I got fed up of my little one getting annoyed because he wanted to sit up and the buggy wouldnt !! so i brought a luggage strap fixed it behind the seat around frame and cliped it together, seat goes upright, you can still vary the incline of the seat and take off when not needed! PROBLEM SOLVED! XX

Thank you so much for this post. I thought I was going mad and that I hadn't fixed the seat part onto the wheels properly as the seat wouldn't sit upright fully, I even took it back to the mothercare where it was purchased from and the assistant was of no help what so ever! I shall go and purchase a strap and use that as my 7 month old looks so uncomfortable when he's sat in the seat.
    Thank you ;)))))) corrine

We (illegally and no doubt voiding the guarentee) unpicked the two bits sewn on the side of the pushchair to get the seat more vertical. This worked well, and I then put a few stitches in round where the black webbing feeds through, to ensure it doesn't put too much strain on the holes. Alternatively, get a long length of velcro, and use this from handle side to handle side, to pull the chair up straighter - fedding it through the originial loop (where the adjust is) to ensure it stays behind the back of the chair. B&Q now sells long strips of velcro. This won't void the guarentee, as it can be taken off.

Quinny Speedi sx folding handle

Hi

We do not recommend that a customer attempts to disassemble the handlebar. For repairs of this nature the chassis should be sent to the Quinny engineers.

Visit www.quinny.com and select the country you're in, then choose the "Contact Us" tab for your enquiry to be sent to the customer care team in your country.

Hi Helen,

If your Speedi is under 2 years old please return to your retailer with proof of purchase paperwork to discuss with them the terms and conditions of the 24 month chassis warranty and getting the chassis sent to our engineers for full inspection/repair work required.

If the Speedi is over 2 years old or you no longer have proof of purchase paperwork please contact our customer service department on 01284 413 141 Mon-Fri 8.30-4.30 to discuss costs of the item required.

When to stop using carrycot

Details
  • Suitable for Newborn to approx 9kg
  • Includes Mosquito net, raincover, mattress and blanket
  • Adaptable to fit Quinny Buzz or Quinny Speedi stroller
I hope this helped answer your question. I would also see if the baby is fitting tightly in the bassinet, and if so I would remover your child and purchase something else. This is a great item.

Ive bought the red quinny buzz 3 from toys r us yesterday< ine been reading that theres 2 seat sizes, mine came with just the one. am i able to fit the larger seat on to it too or does this one seat fit...

Good Afternoon

If you have a 2011 model Quinny Buzz there is only one seat fabric and it is suitable from newborn up until child reaches about 3.5 years old.

It was the 2007-2010 model Quinny Buzz that had two seat fabrics.

Folding Quinny speedi Sx Stroller

In the middle of the underneath of the pushing handle, below where the hand brake lever is there should be a button. If there is, this is what you do.
1) put the foot brake on so the rear wheels wont turn.
2) unclip the clips on the frame that allow you to adjust the height of the pushing handle, they open up, and leave them open, like this the handle you push the buggy with should slide up and down.
3) pull this handle out to its tallest position
4) Hold the handle and press the button mentioned at the start in and hold it in
5) Then quite quickly push the handle down as though you were either pushing it to lower its pushing height, or shoving it away in a temper. It needs to be a firm and quick movement.

Ta da!! After a couple of tries it should click and fold up.

I hope this helps.
