Trying to reset my rebel xs and I can see what I think is the back up battery through a slot in the main battery compartment but it seems that there is no way to remove the second battery. That is it is encased by a solid piece of plastic.
Try a factory reset. I wouldn't try and remove the battery.

Zooming is done from the lens on a DSLR, assuming you have a zoom lens on the camera. For example, if your camera came with the 18-55mm lens, you should see the numbers 18, 24, 35 and 55 on the lens barrel with a white index line next to one of the numbers. Turn the barrel to move a different number next to the index line. 18mm is wide angle, 55mm is 'zoomed in'.

Set the shooting mode to a Creative Zone mode. Under the Setting tab, select [Live View function settings] and press SET. Select [Live View shoot] and press SET. Select [Enable] and press SET. Press the MENU button. Press SET.
