SOURCE: system does not start
The beeps are error codes and if you listen carfully you will hear a pattern of short and long beeps. If you can identify the pattern we can help you figure out whats going on....

Check to see if there are any loose connections to the memory cards on the memory board. Make sure the data cable to the drives are connected properly. Is the fan in the power supply on?
SOURCE: IDE Drive not found on startup
I am assuming that the cd and DVD drives are on the Ide right ?? thats because one of the drives jumper is set wrong. If you take a look at the back you will find it saying master / slave / Cable select with eighter a 6 to 10 pins. basically one needs to be set to master and connected with the top piece of the cable and the other set to slave and connected with the middle of the cable. and the other jacks into the main board. If i misunderstood you please respond correcting me as soon as possible so i can be of further help.
SOURCE: Hi MY Dell OptiPlex GX620 have a hardware
try the bios settings is your monitor in a grafics card slot
also see if plug and play is enabled only use a keybard and mouse with a ps2 conection not usb
SOURCE: Dell OptiPlex GX620 starts up then shuts down repeatedly
Try this: remove the DMOS battery and unplug the on/off switch plug. It's the one in the corner near the power supply. To be sure follow the cable from the front on/off switch board on back to this plug. Then plug the A/C cord in, if the system boots up fine, then replace the front panel power on/off swith board. Naturally you will not be able to power off the computer using the power switch (since we unplugged it), so you will have to just pull the plug. Hope this helps. Joe
