Have you tried to reset the printer?

(Take the power cord off hold # 3and then turn the printer on.)
That is an initial position problem

I have an office jet 6210 and can't get the scanner to work on my computer/printer. downloaded HP solution center and it says,''no device has been detected'' please help.

HP support says that in some cases, the scanner needs to have the full-featured software installed. Download the full-featured software for your product and operating system from the HP website.
