Panasonic 26X Optical Zoom PV-GS31 Camcorder Power on Problem

Dear Sir,

I have Panasonic 26x camcorder, it was working fine for 2 years.

Now it stopped Power on with Battery and also with DC, a week back.

I tried re-charging the battery and tried, no success.

Can anybody help me to fix this problem with this camcorder.

One or two parts are most likely faulty. They are fairly easy to replace.
One is the power unit on back where all connectors are made to the unit. The other is a small board right next to the power unit and has the on board battery for date and time. Hardest part of the repair is removing the case. The power unit is on sale on e-bay. The other part may be harder to find, but not impossible.

Panasonic 26x plug it into laptop and it asked what I want to do. I click on copy pics to my computer and then nothing happens. Not sure why it was working perfectly the week before. Went to check status...

Go to my computer and look for a removeable device drive. When you see it, click on it and see if your pictures are there.

You can find a charger at Wal-Mart for about $45 that includes a car charger. I just got mine there after searching Best Buy and Circuit City to no avail! Just make sure to check the back of the case for compatibility with the battery and/or camcorder.

PV-GS31 often disconnects from vista

I called Panasonic directly today & asked about the Vista driver for the GS31. No such driver exists, but they are trying to develop a driver specifically for Vista users of this camcorder. Finally the mystery is correctly answered & solved for us Vista owners! woooohooo !

PV-GS2 Camcorder is not being detected using Firewire/DV port

Panasonic PV-GS31 video to PC trouble.

The usb is only used for the still pics and for the webcam. You need a DV cable to upload vid.
