Question about Juki DDL-8300

Juki DDL-8500 I have an opportunity to purchase a Juki DDL - 8500 from original owner for $400 including table and some extra's. Is it a good idea? I can't seem to find anyone that can give me some advise. I hope you can help. Thanks.

Is this a commercial machine? If so i use to sew on one for years it was a good machine. 400.00 is a very good price. In fact i need one lol. I had an upholstery shop for years.

I'd buy it.

it sounds good, if the table is one of those thick wood tops, you're very lucky. What condition is the machine, etc? Missouri Sewing Machine Company in Kansas City is my fount of knowledge for such questions. 1-800-257-4989

btw, if you haven't sewn on commercial machines, you're in for a surprise. you'll get the hang of it but be prepared, it's a tad different.

You should probably contact the manufacturer with questions. Hopefully, you did some thorough research before purchasing this machine. From the info I found, it appears to be a straight stitch only machine. I don't know anything about this machine, but I would be hesitant to purchase a straight stitch machine for sewing swimwear. Usually, swimwear needs a stretch stitch or zig-zag capability. Just my thoughts...

you can change the oil for your machine after 6 or 8 month maximum.

My bobbin stitch is too tight on my Juki DDL 8500-7, how can I fix this?

Hi LJ,
Look on the bobbin case, and see if there is a small screw. Usually that is the tension of the bobbin. You can adjust that until there is only slight tension on the bobbin thread.

My Juki DDL 8300n unthreads itself after a few moments of sewing the thread escapes the needle. If I hold the end of the thread it pulls from the spool. Otherwise it just pulls from the excess thread and unthreads itself.

juki 8500 sewing machine upper thread tension dial popped out and doesnot stay in Industrial Juki sewing machine 8500 is what I have and upper thread tension dial popped out and does not stay in. All the parts seems to be present but not sure. The spring inside is intact and tension dial parts are still attached to the dial.
