Clothes still wet after washed

After the cycle is over, clothes are still soaking wet, even after another spin cycle. The water drains fine when no clothes are in the washer however

I assume the pump is working properly. It drains and pumps the water out of the washer. But like you said earlier, it could just be pumping the water I see out. I removed the main outlit hose, but can only see a small section of the washer.

There could still be water in between the drums. Have a look at the filter, pump and all outlet pipes for a blockage. the excees water that you have when you have clothes in will be what's left in the clothes, wih the machine empty you may just be seeing what shows above the inner drum.

I pulled all lines leading to and from the pump, checked the pump, found no blockage. Am I just going to have to take the outer shell off?

  • Morgan Wynne Dec 27, 2012

No, if you've checked the filter and pipes and they are clear remove the main outlet hose from the drum and you can check to see if there may be a sock or something in between the drums that may be moving over the outlet, bit hard to do as it may move when machine is on its side, or you could use a flashlight to look through the holes in the inner drum while machine is upright and you may find something. Is the pump working properly?

Was there still a lot of water left in the machine when you took the drain hose out and lowered it to empty? If there was I would still suspect a blockage or poor pump. If there was only a small amount, providing that there is nothing moving around blocking the outlet and then clearing it, that the pump may well be working properly. Are you using a quick wash? I only ask because depending on what speed your washer does on, some quick washes the spin speed is not the maximum and clothes do come out wetter. If I use a quick wash on my washer I always use the setting for fast spin after the wash to drain the clothes more otherwise they are wet due to the slower spin during the quick wash.

Model AA7000AWW. Why are clothes still wet?

The most likely cause for a washing machine that is able to still spin but still turns but the clothes are still very wet is a problem with the drain hose to the washer . Most of the time with this issue or whichever is causing it to not drain during the spin cycle means the water isn't draining off very quick enough and is essentially going back into the washers drum, that is re-soaking your clothing.

Washer is completing all cycles, but water from wash cycle.is left.in washer and clothes are still soaking wet. No water drains out.

check the Lid safety switch, if its shorted the spin cycle won't work, so your left with wet clothes ,, you can jumper the 2 wires together to test the switch , if that makes the cycle work, Replace that switch

Manf# MAV5000AWW My toploading washing machine goes through all cycles but the last spin cycle the clothes are still soaked and i have to sring the excess water out by hand

If the machine is not pumping out completely, it could mean a blocked drain hose or a faulty/blocked pump. This would explain wet clothes However if the mache is not actually spinning it will leave the clothes wet,as well. Check and ascertain which function is not working.........Nomess

Clothes soaking wet after washer is done

There is either a problem with the drain or spin cycle. Before the spin cycly starts, ensure that the water drains fully. If it does, then it may either be the belt slipping or the timer malfunctioning. If there is water in the tub when it starts spinning, then you have a blockage in the drain line.

Thor laundry system won't dry clothes I have a thor no venting washer/dryer combo machine, that has been working fine for years. Suddenly it is not drying clothes and instead, clothes are soaking wet...

I am having the same problem on a WD9900A. The wash cycle works great. Spins fast and clothes are completely rung out. Dryer cycle heats up well. Fluffs and heats cloths. At some point during dry cycle water is injected on clothes and they end up sopping wet; much wetter than after wash. Filter is clear. Outlet pipe clear and functions well. Possible problem with dryer timer? Or washer timing kicking back on?

I have a Kenmore frontloading washer, model no. 417.42042100. At the end of the wash cycle, the clothes are still very wet; that is, still SOAKED with water, even though all the water has been drained...

HI. your unit is equipped with a spin control board. this board, if damaged, will not initiate an adequate spin. This will not allow for proper drainage and drying of the clothes. The spin motor regulates the rotation speed during the spin cycle. It seems to be the culprit at this time. Have the spin board replaced asap.

This part will usually cost around $150.00 at the most.

Clothes are soaking wet after the entire wash cycle.

The motor controller is likely bad - not getting to the HIGH spin.

GE Front Loading Washing Machine seems to be holding water....

The high speed spin of a front load washer should normally do a good job of getting squeezing out the water but if there is an oversudsing condition that makes it hard for the drain pump to operate then the suds and water will just stay there. First make sure there is no actual clog in the drain line then run a load with no soap or detergent and see what happens. It's always better to use a low suds detergent with this type of machine
