Every time a button on the remote the words "remote dvd 2 " are displayed on dvd player screen
The HS2 can use 3 different remote codes which you can select from the menu - you also need to tell the remote which set of codes to use. How to change the remote is explianed on page 65 of the manual - Press and hold the ENTER button and then press either 1 2 or 3 to set the remote to codes 1 2 or 3. The default is one so try that first.
Go to the manu and try new remote code, Hopefully by changing remote code, from Codeset 2, to code set 1
will solve your problem.

DMR-HS2 RF out is not outputting . HS2 connected to tv via RF cable dosent give picture, How to change RF out from CH 3 to CH 4 or vice versa,
In newre DVD recorder you can turn RF out off, or CH 3 or CH 4.
Mine is turned off by some setting ( it looks like) How to turn it on,for HS2
