Have you tried cleaning the sensors???

    Specifically the registration sensor?

  • Anonymous Dec 29, 2012

I have tested the sensors and the machine is clean. I am an ASP for Xerox and even hardware support is kinda baffled on this one. I will change the led assm and the devloper housing and if that does not fix the issue I will certainly turn my attention to the sensors.

SOURCE: xerox Phaser 6120 color problems

I am running this one and I perplexed by what your saying.
Although I will offer some ideas.
I am running through my mind why the label would only affect the colors.
So some of what I am saying here is thinking.
That is a carousel color printer, and the label is confusing me, mainly since you said black is fine.
I can understand one color being off with the third party toners, but not all 3.
What you are having in some way has to be a contact issue, as if a piece of the label would up on a ground contact.
I would first try removing the transfer assembly, all the toners and the imaging unit, and carefully inspect for another piece of label.
Look at all the metal contacts on the cartridges and internally to the machine, see if one is dirty or somehow bent.
Go into you menus and run a color calibration series, and also do a memory clear, and NVM/NVRAM reset. But before you do any resets print out a configuration page to confirm your addressing if your using an Ethernet cable.
USB wont make a difference.
The reason I suggest the resets and calibrations is the label could have caused some high voltage arching and therefore corruption.
But, then again, why wouldn't that affect black and white. What does black graphics look like?
This one is making my mind spin.
Calibration makes sense because you say you have wrong color substitution, yet doesn't address streaky appearance That to me suggests a bad ground contact, But why only bad in color LOL.Ahhhh you have me nutty with this one. LOL.
I keep migrating back to software corruption or mis calibration.
Let me know if this makes sense or helps. Reading your problem makes me want to see this one.
Anyhow let me know if my rambling, which is rare helps.

SOURCE: Xerox Phaser 8500 color issue

In all honesty, I suspect the print head has some bad jets on it.
Xerox will not warrany it since there is the presence of non xerox ink in the print head.
When you have tried as much as you have with the maintenance cycles. I would suspect a bad printhead.
When the jets become blocked to the point where you cant get all the colors sprayed onto the drum, you get mismatched colors.

SOURCE: Replace Transfer Roller

In the Phaser 6250 Color Laser Printer Service Manual (which I had to have emailed to me from my toner supplier since it is not available to the general public) I went to Chapter 6 - Error Messages and Codes. I had to reboot the printer. Here is the procedure.

Entering by rebooting the printer:

1. Turn the printer power OFF
2. Hold down the Back and Information buttons simutaneously and turn the printer
back on.
3. Continue to hold the buttons until the following message is displayed on the front
panel: Service Diagnostics V#.##, Initializing ....., and then release the buttons.
4. The front panel displays the Service Diagnostics Menu.

On the display is a menu. Find Transfer Roller. Press enter on this menu where it says Toner Waste (Not Full). Back out of the menu.

All of a sudden the machine came to life. You may have to turn off the printer and turn it back on again.

Good Luck

SOURCE: Transfer roller usage message on Phaser 7700. replaced..still wont print

I found the answer here: http://office.support.xerox.com/SRVS/cgi-bin/webcgi.cgi

Resetting Transfer Roller Life

  • Resetting the transfer roller life is to be performed only if the Transfer Roller Assembly was defective and or the assembly is replaced before an end of life or near end of life message. Not to extend the life of the assembly. Doing so may cause premature failure of other internal printer components.

  • The printer will prompt the user to reset the life counts if the assembly is replaced after receiving a Replace Transfer Roller or Replace Transfer Roller Soon message.
note_image33x30.gif    Note: If the main Menu does not appear on the front panel screen and only Replace Transfer Roller is displayed, there may be a print job that is either processing or currently printing. Try the following steps to clear the print jobs and reset the Transfer Roller life:
  1. Press the cancel button several times to flush processing jobs from the printer.

  2. If you do not receive access to the front panel menu by doing this, power off the printer and disconnect Ethernet, parallel or USB cable from the printer.

  3. Turn the printer back on, and while it is powering up, immediately start pushing the cancel key repeatedly until you receive access to the front panel menu.

  4. If the printer menu appears on the front panel screen, follow the instructions below to reset the Transfer Roller life if the printer did not prompt you to reset it:

  1. With Menus highlighted press OK.

  2. Press the Down Arrow and scroll to Supplies Info Menu.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press the Down Arrow and scroll to Exit at the bottom of the menu tree.

  5. Now scroll up to Reset Transfer Roller Life.

  6. Press OK.

  7. Reset Transfer Roller NOW is displayed.

  8. Press OK to reset the transfer roller life.

SOURCE: phaser 6250 transfer roller

Hi clwest: I hope that this will help you.

Transfer Roller is at End of Life
■ Print the Supplies Usage page to verify the remaining life and Transfer
Roller install date.
■ Cycle printer power.
■ If the problem persists, follow the procedure below
Note
Look at the clear plastic window on the Transfer Roller. If toner is present in the
center of the window the Transfer Roller is at end of life and needs to be
replaced. If no toner is visible, try cleaning the CTD (ADC) Sensor.
The “Transfer Roller is at End of Life” is a warning. “Replace Transfer Roller” is
a hard stop.

Xerox phaser 8550 - does a bad print head make a noise like the gears are bad or missing??

No, the noise is made when the printhead cannot tilt back and forth which is caused by either a bad camshaft or process drive motor, they are available in a kit, the part number is 8500-Z2. See link below:

It displays either code 59.51 or10.92.02 not engadged

It's likely either a bad Cyan cartridge or ribbon cable pinched. This is what I found on DepotTechSupport (so the solution isn't mine, just the searching) :-)

59.51, 59.61 ERROR
http://depottechsupport.com/index.php?/Troubleshooter/Step/View/8

59.51 ERROR 59.61 ERROR An error occurred with the cyan printcartridge drive motor during startup or rotation. 1. Check that connectors J5004 on the cyan print-cartridge drive motor and J207 on the driver PCA are seated correctly. 2. Replace the cyan print-cartridge drive motor. 3. Replace the driver PCA

10.92.YY CARTRIDGES NOT ENGAGED
10.92.YY CARTRIDGES NOT ENGAGED The print cartridges are not engaged correctly. YY Description: 00 Black 01 Cyan 02 Magenta 03 Yellow 1. Open and then close the front door. 2. Make sure all the print cartridges are seated correctly. 3. Turn the printer off and then on. 4. Inspect each cartridge lock-lever (on the right side). Open the front door and remove all cartridges and the ETB. Then use the ETB holder on the right side to move the lock-levers up and down. Replace the cartridge lock if it is broken. 5. Inspect the right side cam. This piece controls the movement of the cartridge engagement arm, the cartridge shutters, and the OPC drive. You can inspect this piece without taking off the covers by wiggling the white rod arm on the right side of the ETB. If it moves easily, the part is broken and should be replaced. 6. Inspect the ribbon cables. Folded or damaged ribbon cables can cause a short that generates an error. 7. Inspect the cartridge guide rails to see if any are damaged. 8. Upgrade the DC controller firmware. 9. Clean the contacts on the memorycontroller PCA. 10. Verify that contact is being made with the E-label PCA on the print cartridge. Replace the print cartridge if the Elabel PCA is missing. 11. On the DC controller, make sure that connectors J1022 and J1023 are seated correctly. On the driver PCA, make sure that connectors J201 and J401 are seated correctly. 12. Check the gears on the print-cartridge drive motors. Replace defective motors.

Instead of Bule print DC12 prints Violet

Hi there! The blue color is becoming violet because the Cyan and the Magenta toners are not getting mixed in the proper 100:100 ratio (100% Magenta and 100% Cyan make CMYK Blue). Since the print is violet, the culprit is the Cyan toner. Now, first, get the Cyan Developer Assy checked if there is enough developer in it. If no, get it refilled by a proper tech and manually mix about 50 grams of the Cyan Toner with the developer. Also get the tech to check the trimmer gap on the Developer Assy with a metering gauge. If yes, next check the Cyan dispenser motor located on the backside of the Toner Housing Assy. It is probably broken and not dispensing any toner to the Cyan Developer Assy . Additionally, check for the Cyan Dispenser Auger blockage or jam. It is located under the Cyan Toner Cartridge in the Toner Housing Assy and also check the auger under the Cyan Developer Assy. After sorting these out, you should get proper CMYK blue from the 10th or 12th page once you resume printing.Let me know. Regards

Xerox Textronix Phaser 2135 My cyan color is not printing on location with other colors. It was ok before i replaced my magenta & yellow image drums. I removed transfer belt and cleaned and...

You will need to run a color calibration on the machine so that it can adjust itself. You may have to do it up to 3 times before the alignment is correct. Your user manual should tell you how to do this. I tried to check the Xerox website but their manual downloads are off line right now.

Blurry Copies on Xerox WorkCentre C2424

There are three typical reasons for fuzzy text

1. Y-axis drum rotation problem.
2. Wrong drum temperature.
3. X-axis movement problem.

Sometimes the y-axis encoder will get oil inside and confuse the sensors, causing fuzzy/blurry print.

Most likely the drum assembly will need replaced.

Cyan Toner always prints faded.

It is the developer. All colours should be changed at the same time. This can be accessed via the right hand side of the machine, when you remove the cover. (where the output tray is)
