If u have a blue screen that says NO MEDIA DEVICE U HAVE HIT A BUTTON CALM DOWN VERY EASY TO FIX.... JUST GO TO WHERE SOURCE BUTTON IS ON REMOTE CAME WITH TV AND GO TO WHAT EITHER HDMI 1. OR HDMI 2 WHAT EVER U NORMALLY WATCH ON YOUR TV BEFORE AND YOUR SCREEN SHOULD GO BACK WHERE IT BELONGS.... THIS IS A CRAZY BUTTON TO HAVE NEXT TO PWER BUTTON ACTUALLY EVEN BE ON YOUR REMOTE U SHOULD HAVE TO GO TO,MENUE TO FIND THIS BUT THEY PUT IT THEIR SO ITS THEIR WE GOTTA DEAL WITH IT.... JUST GO TO YOUR SOURCE BUTTON SHOULD BE NXT TO VOLUME BUTTONS AND HIT THE SOURCE BUTTON GO TO EITHER HDMI 1 OR 2 AND HIT ONE OF THOSE AND SCREEN SHOULD COME BK TO PICTURE.... I TRIPPED MYSELF WHEN HIT IT BUT I JUST TOOK A BREATH AND GIGURED IT OUT MYSELF... SO NOW U CAN SAY U HAVE AS WELL.... WELL HOPE THIS FIXED YOUR PROBLEM!!!!!!!

I HAVE FOUND THE ANSWER!!!! I just bought an TCL TV last night and was given the wrong remote. Screen was stuck on "no media" screen BUT I noticed that when I turn the tv on and keep pressing the menu button, the menu screen would pop up for a half second before the no media screen popped up again. So I knew it was able to access it. SO, it took a few try's and with no exact method I turned the tv on, waited til I saw the TCL logo and then simultaneously pressed the menu and channel up button repeatedly. It will open the menu for you and allow you to move between the input channels!!!! It WILL take a few tries to catch it but it worked!!! Your welcome!!!!

I tried this for over a day with no luck and just assumed that it wouldn't work. I tried every combination you can think of. I gave it one more try this morning after almost giving up and attempting to purchase a replacement remote online and tried doing this a couple more times. IT WORKED! Thank You! If this doesn't work for you. KEEP TRYING eventually it will just make sure you are pressing the correct buttons (Volume up and menu) repeatedly when turning on the tv

I have this tv, just had this exact problem and just fixed it. All this screen means is that you have pushed the "media" button on your remote and it's telling you that nothing is plugged in to your usb drive on the tv. If you plug in a usb key with pictures or video on it, you'll be able to view those from this screen. Otherwise, to exit this elusive "no media" screen, grab your remote and hit the button that says "tv" to get back to the blue screen that says "no signal" and from there, you should be able to hit the "input" button on the remote and switch between your inputs of choice. My favorite input is my apple tv plugged into hdmi 2. yay!

  • Anonymous Aug 26, 2013

Remember to read carefully. Everbody that has asked this question has stated the remote is lost as in my case the dog ate it.

Danielle...You are awesome...You helped me get it...only thing I would add is for me, it wasn't simultaneously pushing menu and channel up...it was alternating the two quickly...but it worked...Thank God! (and Danielle!)

I have a TCL 75" 75S425 model and my issue is that one day it's working, next day just a blue hue...I hear sound but nothing on the screen. I've tried resetting numerous times, tried the power button trick and nothing. AND MT 2 year warranty just expired. Any suggestions? Thanks Joe

Forget about playing with remote.
Go grab any USB drive and put it in the TV. You will then have control of blue screen. Exit from USB screen while USB drive is in slot. You will then be able to select which input yoy want. It took 30 seconds to do this.

SOURCE: Blue screen - no signal - turns off [visio tv L42hdtv10a]

With out turning on the T.V., Push the [Input] button on the remote control. The TV should turn on and activate the input menu, just continue to push [Input] until it is set on TV (or HDMI, etc.). this should solve your problem.

Our screen turns blue and goes to new devices input. We have nothing else connected to tv except Brighthouse cable box. If we push the exit button on the tv remote it then goes to showing a cable box and...

Your TV probably has multiple "inputs" (coax, HDMI, component, et cetera). Use the "input" (or "source") button on your TV to cycle through all those available "input" streams.

If you select "coax", and there is *NO* coax cable connected to the back of the TV, you *WILL* see the "blue-screen". Select a different source that is "active".

I have a Philips 51PW9303 Rear Projection TV that had blue shadows around the sides of the screen and now has a green and red bowed line at bottom. Does I need a convergence board to solve this?

If the following doesn't work the tubes could be at the end of life:
Adjusting convergence:
Note: For best results, the Projection TV needs to be turned on for 15 minutes or longer before adjusting the picture tubes (convergence).

To adjust the convergence of the picture tubes:
  1. Press the 'MENU/SELECT' button on the remote.
  2. Press CURSOR RIGHT to enter the PICTURE menu.
  3. Use CURSOR DOWN and RIGHT to select and enter MANUAL CONVERGE.
  4. Press CURSOR RIGHT to select CONVERGE RED or press CURSOR RIGHT and DOWN to select CONVERGE BLUE.
  5. A crosshair will be shown on the screen. If there is any red or blue fringe around the crosshair, use CURSOR RIGHT, LEFT, UP, DOWN to try and merge the fringe colors with the crosshair.
  6. Press the 'MENU/SELECT' button to return to MANUAL CONVERGE menu.
  7. Press the 'EXIT' button to exit the menu.
If you are satisfied with the convergence you may stop now. Otherwise, you can continue and adjust the convergence more using mult ipoint convergence.
To Adjust multipoint convergence:
  1. Press the 'MENU/SELECT' button on the remote.
  2. Use CURSOR RIGHT to enter the PICTURE menu.
  3. Use CURSOR DOWN and RIGHT on the cursor ring to select and enter MANUAL CONVERGE.
  4. Press CURSOR RIGHT and DOWN on the cursor ring to select MULTIPOINT RED or MULTIPOINT BLUE.
  5. A grid of crosshairs will appear on the screen. If there is any red or blue fringe around any of them, press CURSOR RIGHT to enter NAVIGATE mode.
  6. Use CURSOR RIGHT, LEFT, UP, and DOWN to move to a crosshair that has a color outline.
  7. Press the 'EXIT' button to enter ADJUST mode.
  8. Use CURSOR RIGHT, LEFT, UP, and DOWN to merge the color with the crosshair.
  9. Press the 'STATUS/EXIT' button to return to NAVIGATE mode. Repeat as necessary.
  10. Press the 'MENU' button to return to the MANUAL CONVERGE menu.
  11. Press CURSOR DOWN until SAVE MULTIPOINT is selected.
  12. Press CURSOR RIGHT to save the multipoint settings.
  13. Press the 'EXIT' button to exit the menu.
