I replaced the bearings on my MAH6500aww and she ran fine for about 3 weeks. Then we started to notice water coming from underneath. I pulled the back off and watched as it ran thru a full cycle. The water is coming out from where the (spline) sticks out/ thru the back of the tub. It ranges from a slow to a fast trickle. Which makes me believe that it has leaked slowly for a little while. Might this be a seal not properly seated, even tho it did not leak for the first 5 loads, as I sat a watched the fills, spins, washings, and drains. I honestly DO NOT want to rip this thing apart, as I believe I could do it blind folded with my hands tied behind my back =) I have done it so many times...ugh. Thanks for any advice.

There are special tool designed to dissassemble this unit although it can be broken down without them if care is taken.
Having the model and serial number would help but be assured that the threading is standard (Rightie tighty, lefty loosy)
Maytag used different designs. Repair depends on the model/serial number. With this information I may be able to step you through the repair.
Knowing the age of your machine would be a plus in determining if repair is economically feasible.

Hi hindsr
I dont know for sure what it is but i would guess that the tub is going off balance during the spin just befor the rinse and the tub is not centered. so what happens is watter hits the top of the tub and runs down the back (inside) and thats where the water is comming from.

Mike, Sorry to hear that, is there any water around the clutch pulley? With the front panel removed and you put the washer in a Spin Only cycle with no clothes in the wash basket. View the Clutch pulley turning CCW and see if is turning true with no wobble? Mine spun off twice before I got it seated properly, and it was in wobble mode until I got it seated properly. With the water leak issue maybe you can view with the front panel off and a partial fill the leak source. You can always do a quick tub pump out in service mode. As you know unplug the 120VAC to the machine before you poke around in there. Do you still have the original clutch? Did you remove the plastic cover and inspect the roller bearings, clutch spring and coupler? Good luck and let’s see what you find. Rich

Double posting, are you still having the issue, did reseating the clutch clear the issue?
