Hi Curtis,

Oh dear, So much loose change, that you had to buy a TOY radio.

I can't stress enough that for a few more dollars, people could buy a half decent radio, and you wouldn't have these issues.

These are mass produced, nasty little monsters, things keep going wrong with them, and very little can be done, if anything to solve the recurring problems.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but These are TOYS for children to play with, not a real 2-way radio.

Regards,
Peter

I have 2 bellsouth 2250 walkie talkies and have set them both to the same channel and subchannel, but cannot get them to communicate. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. You have already said channel, which is frequency and sub channel, which is called a lot of things. You are 99% ahead! My best guess: turn them Off and On. Then check the channel and subchannel again. One of the radios did not save the information or lock it into the memory. The On/Off cycle may save it and they will work! Let's cross our fingers. But do not hesitate to reprogram them as many as 3-5 times and look for a SAVE feature in the manual. Best of luck!

I have a set of motorola fv700 talkabout radios. they wont transmit to each other. i checked the inter. elim. code. they are the same. and i have even turned them off. these are new radios. i know they...

Take the radios back to a very basic setting with all special features turned off. If the radios have a Qt filter check to see it is turned off, and set your Code to zero (off) on both units. Also, check to see your battery is good in both units. Trade the battery with a known good radio to see if the problem moves to the other radio, is a simple test.

ONE SET WILL NOT RECEIVE.OR THE OTHER SET WILL NOT TRANSMIT

You need to verify you have the frequency, code and Qt filter set identically. Also, check your batteries to see if they are good.

Here is a link to the user guide: http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T59xx_User_Manual_E.pdf

You should be able to set the radio back to a simple setting with the code and Qt filter shut off (zero), this would tell you pretty quickly if your radio will communicate. If they will not communicate with the frequency set the same, and the other features turned off, you have a battery or radio problem.

Best regards.

I can not get my radios to communicate. they are on the same channal and have they same code and are the same models. why?

Check your Qt filter. Set it to the off position (the minus symbol) on both radios. Once you have your Frequency, Interference Code Eliminator and Qt Filter set identical, the radios should communicate. If not, you have a radio with a problem. Or a bad battery. (Bad batteries can also cause some user problems, such as no transmit or intermittent transmit.)

Here is a link to the user's guide, the Qt filter is on page 21: http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/T55xx.pdf

Another test of the radios would be to put both Codes to zero and see if you can communicate without the code turned on.

Motorola T5725 won't work

I have T5720s - both have the same settings (channel 1), both are charged, but they won't communicate. They beep when you push the "talk" button, but you don't hear anything on the second radio.

Any ideas?
Thanks!
John
