It will record erratically slow down on the images and eventually stop recording.
A technician told me the drive needs to be changed.
I live in Panama City, Panama and my recorder is not under warranty anymore.
Please define the name and reference numbers of the drive I should get to fix the problem.
Thank you in advance,
Sincerely,
P.G

Sounds like it may be a software issue. Have you tried using a different burning application? This may help.
SOURCE: How much RAM needed to burn DVDs?
no, ram should not be the problem... you should first reinstall your os and use nero 6.66... that can happen because of many things but you can this before reinstalling:
make a new account on window xp, delet your existent...
start the system in safe mode... if it allows you to burn the dvd in safe mode your problem is operative system...
in fact if the problem is solved by burning from a new windows account... that should be all...
the problem could be caused by:
bad or low transference IDE cables... you need ATA 66 cables minimum...
problems with burning software ( if you already have nero, uninstall it completely and install a newer version), there are many free trials on the internet.
of course more RAM would be a great help... but the problem isnt that...
SOURCE: Recording problem with LG RH266 Recorder..
Just bought unit. Had same problem.Tried lots of different types of disks with no luck. Tried to play already written +R disk. Worked OK. Then took out and replaced with blank -R. Came up with new screen asking me if I wanted to initialize disk. Answered yes and it took about 20 seconds. Then tried to DUB from HDD to DVD again. This time it came up with the dubbing menu, I hadn't seen before, and worked.
Hardly ideal, but the trick was to get it to recognise it as a blank and initialize. Currently burning my first disk. Didnt realise about 'FAST' mode, so taking ages.

I have had the same problem a few times. All I do is eject and re-insert the disk until it recognises it, this seemed to work for me

Is there a setting for DVD or CD? Have you looked at the CD by putting in the slot and going to My computer>choosing the Drive>opening the folder and looking at the content? I'm just suggesting here. You may have just opened a new CD or DVD .
Do you have the manual? Lg does not provide a download for a manual of any kind for your product.
Do you have the software?
You many need to uninstall the burner; unplug it from the wall and computer and do a clean install. (which means turn off every other running program on your system, including your virus/firewall program.) Before you do this you also need to go to the toolbar>tools>internet options> geneneral>delete all cookies and delete them.
When you are finished reinstalling, restart your computer.
I hope this helps. I know this can be so frustrating! thank you for using Fix Ya.
