I have a Sony Grand WEGA KDF-70XBR950 70 in. HD television. It has worked perfectly for three years. Now I am getting the blue lines that are shooting across from the left side of the screen. It is NOT ghosting or convergence. It is small thin blue lines that shoot across the screen from 1/4 to 1/2 of the screen. Everywhere a blue line comes into the picture items that are supposed to appear white are yellow. Has anyone seen this before and do you have any idea of what might be causing it?? Or, how much it will cost to repair? Any assistance would be appreciated. I have Verizon FiOS TV service. It is not their service, because I get the same problem even when I play a DVD. Thank You, Bruce
Okay my friend your tv vertical circuit is begining to get faulty you could be having some bad caps or the vertical ic is defected have a tech check your tv for repairs.if you are not a tech you cannot repair the set by your self.good luck.
You have a shorted blue picure tube G1 to cathode. The reason for the vertical lines (they, are called vertical retrace), is that the blue tube is shorted . This means that the blue tube running fully open overcoming all other colors. This correct way to troubleshoot this is to have a qualified Master Technician isolate each gun and remove the blue crt board and if the other two guns function normally, the blue gun is definitely shorted. By the way ,this repair is more like $500, but service call should only be around $125. Don't be scammed!! Scrivitron There is also the possibility that by turning the screen down on the focus/screen block it(Blue) might solve the problem. But that would be to easy. Scrivitron

I assume you mean "integrated circuit" by "ic".
If this is the problem. How much should it cost to repair?? I know you can't give me an exact quote, but are we talking $75 or $300??
Also, is this something a tech should be able to repair easily?? Can they do the repair in my homoe?? This set is huge and I really don't want anyone hauling it around, because that will probably create more problems.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
