The washing machine fills and agitates, but completely stops when it comes time to drain. So I do not know if it will spin because the timer knob stops when the wash cycle (agitation) reaches the ''spin'' mark on the dial. Once it stops, no draining occurs and the soapy water just sits there. I've pulled out all of the wet soapy clothes and still no action. It will, however, still fill and agitate if I return the dial to the start postition again. It just keeps on stoping in the same spot (''rinse'' mark on the knob) with no draining. after rinse washer wont drain and spin
Please empty your machine and run the machine empty. If the washer goes through the whole cycle without any clothes. Please let me know
I had the same issue: lid switch not connecting. Lid switch is standard across Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid and others. My problem was the switch assembly came apart so the switch lever would not connect with the lid plunger. The switch itself was fine; it clicked and tested connectivity OK. One zap strap and I was back in business. If your switch is fried or corroded a new one can be found on-line for $15 or at your local appliance repair shop for $50. Very easy fix. If you are really stuck waiting for a replacement the switch can be by-passed with a short piece of standard house electrical wire, just be careful of spin cycle - no peeking! Check the pipes from the drum to the exit ...make sure there is no blockages ..if no blockages check the pipe
SOURCE: machine fills and agitates, but won't drain
It sounds like you pump is clogged. If there is something stuck in your pump the motor can't spin it to drain the water. If that is the problem then it's easy to fix. Simply clear the pump and put it back on, just make sure to clamp off the hoses to the pump with hose clamps or you will have water every where. If that is not the problem though then it means that your timer is bad and that is a little more expensive. Try the pump first though and hope that that is all it is. If not, like I said, you will need a new timer but most likely your pump is just clogged with something that is causing the pump motor to not spin. It could be a coin or a hair pin or even a sock or something. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi
If the cycle won't complete then either it's a problem with the timer or a cold-water supply problem:-
If your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.
It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water.
