Even after charging all night, there's still a fault code on the battery condition meter saying the batteries are low. Could that possibly mean the batteries are not completely broken in yet, and not up to full capacity? This is a new scooter.
Hi, lets work on the assumption that your scooter is correct in saying the batteries are low, why is that ? , well you need to look at the charger and if possible try another charger , the other thing that could have happened is the charger fuse has blown, this is located on the tiller stem
If you are convinced that the charger and fuse are okay , look at the batteries, just because it a new scooter does not mean it new batteries ., let me explain let say your scooter has been assembled a year ago, batteries fitted , now the batteries have not been touched during that period , that in itself can kill batteries or as soon as you start charging them they give up.
I have seen this happen on many occasions.

It probably means that the connections or wiring from your battery are loose or broken. When you add the extra current required to run the motors, the voltage is being lost. Monitor the battery voltage with a meter while trying to drive the scooter will prove this.

I have the book if you can figure a way to post you email without getting too much SPAM. Be sure the charger is un-plugged, and that the free wheel lever is engaged.

Sounds like your motor brake is out. Usually the discolor on the brake indicates it has overheated.

It is pretty common for the meters on the charger to either not work at all, or give an inaccurate reading. They get bounced and dropped, and they aren't that well built to begin with. Basically, just ignore the charger as long as you are getting a full charge out of it, and getting good distance with each charge.

Problem solved. I was mistaken. There's no fault code. The light just comes on at first... then it displays a code if something is wrong.
