My colors all of a sudden went out of wack

I found the screen where you line up the yellow, red and blue crosses.  Am I supposed to get them all on top of one another?  Some of them don't want to move, is that a problem? Just my blue color has messed up on my tv and is wavy on the cross of the color adjustment setup. I have a Toshiba 55 inch Projection TV> Model # TP55C81. It is 10 yrs old. Thanks for your help

The only one that is off is the blue. I have tried and nothing so far is bringing the line straight. My picture itself has a blue highlight to the right of every object.

So far nothing is working to correct my problem. Is there something else wrong why just the blue color won't line up.

Is there an advanced convergence setup anywhere in the menu where the screen displays a grid? If so, you might want to get into that and move along the grid to each section that looks off. Adjust until the color falls behind the gridline, and move on to the next. It can be a time-consuming process, but should take care of your convergence issues.

The Color On My Mitsubishi Rear Projection Tv model- WS-55908 looks to be off, picture looks blue and Yellow.

its sounds like the convergence on your TV needs to be adjusted. (this adjusts all of the color guns in the back of the tv to line them up again, when they get off, you start to get yellow blue or red halos around objects in the picture. In the setup menu on your TV under picture or Display there will be an item that says "convergence" follow the instructions in there so all the crosses on the screen no longer have colored halos anymore.

Red/Orange horizontal lines

it could be that the tv convergence circuit is going bad. One shure way of finding out is to go to the tv feature menu(picture, audio etc.) and select the customer convergence setting, you should get a cross hair pattern(cross in middle of screen). that cross should be white and by aligning the red or blue colors they should move left, right, up or down

I have a hitachi 50FX18B and the convergence lines are not aligne

Yes - You will need to either remove the circuit board or lift up the tray. If you are not sure how to do it yourself read the link below.

  • This is a very common failure on Projection TV sets.
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
You can see some example photos and find a solution here...

Screen hazzy and issue with blue convergence

bad convergence would cause show to look as if it was supposed to be a 3-d movie, if a bulb was going out then people would look purple blue -green,or some other off color, so likely the green bulb is going out from the color of the people you described.

Color is mostly yellow and blue with double images

you have lost the convergence IC`s in your set, this really isn`t a diy repair unless you are very proficient in un-soldering and re-soldering components, once replaced there will be an alignment procedure as well that will require the service manual also, if you have more questions feel free to ask away, video-tek

Convergence Problem - PT-61HX41

Your TV most likely has one or more possible problems.

Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Picture of a set that needs the fluid changed.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.

CONVERGE PROBLEM
hello,
60pp9202 About 2 days ago tv went blurry -all colors separated!
I first tried factory setting convergence - NO GOOD!
Then by hand one cross aligned at a time (red mostly, and green, the blue doesn't show misalignment) , tv won't save my efforts after I shut it off.
The crosses around perimeter are bend like bows , so when you try to bring yellow and red crosses together to align with "converge red"- they can't line up because red and yellow crosses are bowed-bent opposite, in center they are closer to straight be still all are a bit warped! images on screen are now also warped as well! If there are any of you in the Queens nyc area that can come and do a good repair- I would be glad to pay a decent fair price! (917)687-6290 CALL ME IF YOU CAN COME TO FIX IT (2PM-8PM) [email protected]
I WOULD ALSO APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE! CAN I FIX THIS MYSELF BY CHANGING A "SNAP IN" NEW PART OR DO I NEED TO DO SOLDERING AND HAVE TESTING EQUIPMENT AND SPECIFIC TV REPAIR KNOWLEDGE???
THANK YOU! KURT

Color problem

Did you try alignment of color convergence in setting up. Try this
1 Press MENU
2 Select SET UP
3 Select CONVERGENCE
4 Select screen mode ZOOM this accesses the center convergence adjustment.Press set/enter
5 Use arrow keys to aline the red cross to the white cross.Press set/enter
6 Use arrow keys to alingn the blue line in the same manner. Once adjustment is complete press MENU to turn the menu off.
I hope this helps if you cant move the red or blue lines you face the same problem I face. I still havent gotton any solutions to my post about being unable to adjust the red line. You could also call Pioneer's help line 800-421-1404.
