Stiffy drive don't respond when you insert a stiffy in the drive. DVD ROM spin on and off for some time but don't read the CD. It starts slowly then speed up, stop and start over again. If you click on the DVD ROM icon it prompts you to insert a CD.

Hi,
I've posted the problem of the DVD ROM but I have solved it in the meantime. The laser carriage was stucked in one position. The drive is working fine after I've released the carriage. I've added the problem with the stiffy drive because I thought that it was a common problem. I still needs to look at the stiffy drive again but it is not a major problem as I don't use it much.
