You can't use a wireless adapter like one you connect to a laptop or PC. Simple reason is that your speakers don't have an Operating System that can translate the wireless signal.

The easiest way (and I don't know what you call "reasonable priced") is to use Airport Express from Apple. A nice how-to can be found here. You can get them used for about 50$.

Another option is to use Sony HomeShare Wi-Fi Network Speakers - they cost about the same. Example here and a little how-to here.

Hope this helps - let me know if you have any questions.

any wireless router will be ok, they are all the same standard normally 802.11G, but if your adapter is 54MBPS go for a 54G router, or if 108MBPS, go for the faster router.

SOURCE: which is faster hard wired or wireless xbox 360 network adapter

It all depends. Signals change often. Hard wire you alaways have a 100% signal. Wireless could change. For you it seems wireless is hassel free but signal wise i would go hard wire cause then you have full connection

I just got a new computer and I want to use the old one in a different room but its not showing the router. I was wondering if it because it was the one i downloaded the router to first?

Hi,

If the old pc is using a wireless connection, the signal of the router is not enough to reach the room. If it is wired, the recommended length of the cable is 15 ft. If it is wireless check if there is a wireless adapter installed in the old pc you will need one to connect.

WRT160N Wireless Router : i just bought a new laptop and a lynsis wrt160n......

The wired and wireless speed will always be different.
The maximum wired speed will be 100 Mbps. That means the wired connection is working properly.
Wireless connection speed will depend on the router and the wireless adapter on your computer.
If you are using B-Adapter then max speed will be 11 MBPS. IF it is G-Adapter then max speed will be 54 Mbps.
The N-adapter will give you more speed.
Check in the Device manager which adapter you are using on your wireless computer.
One more thing you can try changing the wireless channel on the router.
You will need to access the router settings page.
Update the drivers of your wireless adapter on the computer.
You have WRT160N router.
This router has issues with the Firmware.
Is there any computer connected to the router with the cable.
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
Download the firmware of the router from the manufacturer's website.
enter the model number. select proper version number and download the firmware of the router.
Once you download the firmware, you will need to open the router set up and upgrade the firmware of the router.
After upgrading the firmware, it is recommended that you reset and reconfigure the router.

It sounds like the wireless radio had gone out in your router is out, time for a new router if wireless is a must.

Can you connect to the router with a cable? If so, then hang onto that old router. You, or a friend, can use it as a wired bridge to your home theater system, or to another room in the house that may need multiple wired connections. I use my old router to connect my xbox 360, blu-ray player, television, and satellite DVR box.

Can I use old 2wire router to connect PC to new wireless router?

Hi, You can not use a router to connect a computer to another wireless router. You need to purchase a wireless adapter if you want to connect a computer wirelessly to the network. There seems no other way of doing this.

Let me know if you need any further help regarding this.

No Active Internet Connection

If you want to use the wireless portion of your router, you would need a wireless adapter installed on your desktop. If you are getting internet on your desktop then this means that your wired connection is fine to the router is fine. The WMP54G adapter will work with your router, however if you are not planning on connecting to the internet wirelessly through the router then there is no need to purchase the adapter. Hope that this helps you out.

Recently had a Belkin Wireless system install at home that keeps dropping the line in my room so want to use ASDL cable to connect to my computer what is the best modem card to get to do this

Your ISP should provide you with an external modem that would be connected to your phone line, then you would connect the modem to one of the wired connections on the back of the router, or directly to the back of your computer.

However, if you insist on an internal modem, I would suggest either a U.S. Robotics or Encore brand.

Help needed with WG834g & usb adapter

Sometimes a hard wire cable whether lan or usb is needed to set up the router first before going wireless. If not it maybe your pc needs a ip/dns flush from the last allocated numbers from your bt router. To clear this:- Click Start>Run, then type ipconfig /flushdns then press enter.
