P, td, li {font-family: arial, u; font-size:9pt; margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px; word-spacing:1px;}
If you camera freezes when you power it on or when you try to take a picture, you may have a defective memory card. To test your camera and the memory card, follow these steps:
Power off your camera.
Remove the battery from your camera. If you have a memory card inside the camera, remove that as well.
Clean out any dust or debris inside the battery compartment, and then re-insert the battery into your camera.
Power your camera on without the memory card installed.
Take a picture.
If your camera takes a picture, re-install the memory card, and then go to Step 6.
If it does not take a picture, your camera requires service. To set up service, click the Create Online Service Request button below.
Format the memory card in the camera, and then take another picture.
Important:Formatting erases all pictures and other data from the card. If you have pictures on the memory card you want to keep, download those pictures to your computer before you format the memory card.
If your camera does not take a picture with the formatted memory card installed, replace the memory card.
If the issue still persists after you’ve installed a new memory card, your camera requires service. To set up service, click the Create Online Service Request button below

Press "Menu" Press button to the right (towards a little flower on my camera) which takes you to the "setting" menu. scroll down to "format" right click again and it reads "All data deleted" and then gives you the option to "Format" or "Cancel". Select "Format" and then "ok" and pronto....your memory card is ready to go.
This often indicates a card error. Transfer all your images then format the card in the camera.
If you still have the problem, try a different card.
If you still have the problem then looks like you will have to send it in for repair.
