The screen is cracked on the inside and out and wont let me view any thing but a black and white cracked screen but will still let me take pictures but i can view them on the camera i can view them on a tv or computer screen but not the camera itself how can i fix it ?

The LCD can be replaced. The part is around $50-$75 I believe. It can be tricky to replace, but if you take your time, you can save money by doing it yourself. The screen sounds cracked or broken, and black & white will not work either.
If camcorder shows old recorded tapes picture with correct colors in LCD but does not show live view in camera mode to record new movie then its ccd imager chip failure.
And if camcoder shows live view and old recorded tapes in its eye piece view finder but does not show any thing in LCD the its problem of broekn/ cracked flexible wire between lcd board and main board of camcorder.

Available in Part Store. LCD cabinet has few screws as mentioned in below exploded view image that will be removed, unplug flexible wire (orange color) take out broken lcd and put new lcd, put things in reverse order. Thanks.
This sound like a broken LCD screen. Does the EVF (Electronic View Finder) still work? If you can live without the LCD, your still in business! If not, replacement by a repair shop is the only other option. If you want to try it yourself, you might check ebay for broken S700's that have a good LCD screen but some other problem. Total disassembly manuals are available online through Google search. One site has every manual for any product you can think of, and if they don't have it, they will find it for you. Digital camera repair is NOT for the faint of heart. Cool nerves,steady hands, and no two year old's around are required. Tiny parts with even tinier electrical connections are the norm. The good thing is that the screen is nowhere near the lens assembly, so dirt ingestion shouldn't be a problem. An illuminated magnifier lamp would also be VERY handy.
Assuming everything else still works, you can buy a replacement LCD screen on eBay for around $50 and install it yourself. The LCD screen comes with the front and inside screen.

This sounds like a broken or cracked LCD screen. The backlite is working, thus you will get the white screen. The LCD could also be disconnected internally, or has other problems. But this is a direct problem with the LCD. A camera like this can usually take pictures, and you may be able to use it to set the menus by using the video cable to the TV or computer screen (some flat screens have video inputs).
