Question about Nintendo Wii Console
I have a new problem with my wii remote it stopped sending signals, the light works by the remote seem to have no effect. I have new batteries and until now everything worked fine, I have my Wii console for 3 months. Any ideas how to fix this?
This happened to my son. I did some reading and found out you have to resynchronize the remote. This is from the manual
1) Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
2)Remove th battery cover on the back of the remote and press the SYNC. button inside the cover. The Player LEDs will blink.
3)Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press the SYNC button on the inside of the compartment
4)When the Player LED blinking stops, connection is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number.
This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii remote added to your system.
This worked for me, hope it helps you.

Unplug the power cord from your WII concole for about 2 minutes. Plug the console back in and power it up. Remove the back cover from the WII remote and press and release the red SYNC button- all 4 lights on the remote will flash. While they are flashing open the cover on the front of the console and press the red SYNC button and release quickly. The remote lights will stop flashing and one LED will come on specifying the contoller number
☼●●● = remote #1
●☼●● = remote #2

The problem where the lights would flash on and then go off happened to me also.
I pressed the 'sync' button on the wii remote and the red 'sync' button on the console at the same time for about 10 seconds. Let go of the buttons and then the lights should flash and light 1 on the remote came up!!!
Hope it works for all 'ya!

For solution #24, of all the solutions, this is the one that worked for me. The key, which I was missing in the resync process, is to NOT HOLD DOWN the red resync buttons on the console for more than a couple of seconds. If you do, it will resync EVERYTHING...it will delete all sync's. This is actually stated in the users manual I found online (I lost mine which is why I was online looking for a solution). I was attempting to sync my new Wii board...but I was holding down the red sync button on the console. It was causing the system to NOT sync. Then when I gave up and tried to use the remotes, I found none of them worked. I slapped, banged, changed batteries, etc. Finally, I found solution #24, and it worked. THANKS TO ALL.

If anyone is having trouble with the Wiimote on games like tennis and baseball, it happened to me and there's a simple way to fix it.
Take your Wiimote in your hand and slap it with the buttons facing down onto your other hand. Slap it hard and make sure the buttons are facing down. The accelerator inside might be jammed, and this will unjam it. Someone told me this, and saved me 40 dollars. : )

What appears to have happened is the sensor within the mote has dislodged and been moved out of alignment the smacking both sides works but its only a stop gap solution, you need to open up the mote and tac some solder onto the connections, this will prevent it from going out again, also check the sensor bar is not loose as the cable from the sensor bar can sometimes become loose if it's moved around alot.

Check your sensorbar, take a digital camera or a celphone camera and look at it while the wii is on, if you see some light dots the sensor bar is working fine if not, your remote is probably broken. Your remote seems to be allright cause the lights your mentioning i take it is the small leds on the remote. The sensor bar simply outputs IR(infra red)light which is caught by the remote and then the remote talks back tothe wii via bluetooth. If the sensor bar is busted don´t worry, ican help you there too. If so wirte me and i will explain it too you.. Good Luck

OK! I found a solution to this on a different site. All you have to do is slap it in your hand with the force of hitting a fly with a fly swatter. Trust me. Do both sides.

I tried the re-sync and it did not work (I had the blinking lights on both remotes). I replaced the batteries and tried the manual re-sync on both.
Then I read something about interference of other wireless devices being a problem, so I thought I would try hiding one of the remotes while re-syncing.
Hide one of the remotes while re-synceing the first one and see if this works for you.
You may have to hide the primary when trying to re-sync the second as well.
W are up and running after a month.

I figured out the solution as to why my Wii remote wouldnt work.
First i did everything like sync it and replaced the batteries and THAT didnt work.
Second i brought a new one to test it out and THAT one wouldnt work. I was baffled as to why nothing would work. So i decided to check every little part of my wii, Including all cords and Stuff and found the Problem. Mice had chewed the sensor Bar cord. I was so upset. So i went hunting for a new sensor bar that plugged into the wii, But i couldnt find one. So i had to buy a portable bar. And now It works fine ^-^

Wiimote not working in games. Wiimote working in the main system menu but not in games. The Wiimote cursor or hand is not showing up in games. You get stuck in games because there is no cursor. I my case I have an older Wii and the problem was caused by on one side of the sensor bar working properly.
The sensor bar is made of up infrared diodes. Apparently having one side working is enough for the main menus to sort of work but not games. You can check you sensor bar by turning on the Wii making sure the bar is plugged in and looking at it with a digital camera or digital video camera. They are sensitive to infrared and the "lights" will show up in the view finder. If only one side of the bar is lit then you have a bad bar.
I was able to fix the bar by opening it up and using a green diode find the bad diode and soldering a bridge across it so the rest of the diodes on that side of the bar worked. The other option is to by a new bar for a few dollars. Hope is helps somebody else.

Hey i kinda have the same problem but i accidentally set the sensitivity at 1. just check that all the cords r plugged in all the way. and check 2 c if it keeps falling out.try copying wii memory onto an SD card then format wii system memory.(that will delete all memory on wii so copy onto SD card.BE CAREFUL!!!)next check sensitivity lvl and sensor bar placement.if none of that works bring it 2 the nearest walmart 2 c if they can fix it. i hope this helps!

My remote stuck also. One workd and another didn't. I snapped it like a whip several times. Smacked it on my hand several times and nuttin!!! I was ill and smacked it against my computer because I was so mad at the stupid remote. Wow! it works now. Had I only tried that one a while ago, I would have saved myself a lot of stress!

In my case, the solution with the whole slapping it on your hand worked very well

If you have any GameCube controllers connected, unplug them. Sonic Riders doesn't work with the Wiimote if GameCube controllers are plugged in to the unit.

My Wii controller was jammed like everyone else's. I could navigate the menu but could not swing or bowl or play any of the games. I gave the controller a hard flick... almost like you are cracking a bullwhip. I did it on all 4 sides of the controller to be safe since you don"t know how the accelerometer is jammed up. I also resynced the controller just to be safe. Presto... back in business.

I tried everything recommended by others and nothing worked. Then I realized that the SENSOR BAR had fallen behind the TV. Once I repositioned it back on top of the TV, the remote worked fine!! I feel so stupid but glad the remote doesn't have to be replaced.
