Hi My display is intermittently blank, yet the unit still works. I read ideas about taking out the cd unit and resoldering the 2R7 surface mounted resistors. I have taken out the CD unit and there are no surface mounted resistors there - just the standard resistors with colour codes - the wires go through to the underside of the board. Are there any other solutions I could try?

I found my Kenwood KDC322 faceplate doing the same thing(cutting out) I cleaned the contact points on this 'ribbon' behind the faceplate by rubbing the discoloration off with a pencil eraser. The lights have not cut out again.

the resistors are not in the face plate, but on the main motherboard inside the deck itself. usually on the right side of the board.

I had the same problem and I resoldered the resistors on the board inside the stereo and it worked. Unscrew and remove the top cover and the CD slot. There are 10 of them located on the lower right side of the board. Good luck.
