I had this issue on a 40" Seiki TV. I turned off the 120hz setting and also the Noise Reduction settings in the Menu and it stopped.

Our brand new LG TV loses brightness whilst you are watching a programme.

Check to make sure that eco mode is turned off. It will sense the ambient lighting and if it is bright, the TV will be bright so if you are seeing the brightness change...check that setting first.

Monitor Coloring

Well most monitors come with 2 preset color temperatures and the option to customize it(the rgb setting). Your monitor has them as well 6500K or 9300K. 6500 is more reddish(like outdoors) and 9300 is more a bluish white(like a tv, i like the 9300 more). How u said its red and bright, what i would do is set the 9300 preset and if its still too red the customize the RGB by lowering the red. and If too bright then Lower the brightness(Press down on BRIGHTNESS CONTRAST page). If you don't have the manual you can download the full manual from LG's download site here: http://www.lge.com/support/manual. If you see that you can't get it just right, then the monitor might need adjustment from inside and you should make a qualified technician open the monitor and adjust that for you. Hope this was helpful.
