Red bleeds into the black, and the black is not true when this happens, It comes and goes.I checked all inputs, the same happens with HDMI, Composite and Component inputs. Just recently the unit will not turn on. When you hit the power button the red light blinks 4 times. When power is present you hear a relay clicking on the power supply BN-44 board, I checked all voltages comming into the suppply, fuse is ok, resistors check out fine and the output of the BN-44 to the BN-97 video-audio board correspond to the voltages listed on the board but right in that area is where you hear the relay clicking. I do not have a service manual, does any one know where I can purchase one? Thank you. Jon

I think you need to exchange the Main Board.

Same problem with my set. The volume was either fully up, or fully down (usually down), and other controls didn't work- like I couldn't access the menus and could not adjust the width of the screen/aspect ratio.
I lived with it for about six weeks, then took the back off the TV. Just now it seems to be fixed, but I don't know if it will last.
I disconnected the wire leading to the channel up/down, volume up/down and source board, turned on the tv, turned it back off, reconnected the cable, and everything seems fine now.

I had the same problem with a 52" Samsung LCD. I found 2 electrolytic
caps with bulging tops on the power supply board. (see pic). I looked
to be the 5v section but I'm not sure. I got replacement at Fry's for
$1.90 each. All is well!

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
If the lines are present on every input you most likely have a bad screen. We usually replace the mainboard first because its cheaper .

Apparently this is a known problem with flat panel TVs made a few years ago due to bad capacitors in the power supply. This same problem appeared in computer mother boards at about the same time so that the capacitors went open or shorted causing problems. There is videos on You Tube that addresses this problem see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZccykxrtX9g as a starting point and look around for other repairs

Same problem i think. Red colors overtake the black. My power went out as well so i had a local technician check it and they ended up replacing one of the boards. Fixed the power but not the "bleeding". The color issue comes and goes now daily. Can't find any answers to this one.
