Wireless Method:

  • Make sure your printer has wireless network adapters or a wireless router.
  • Power on the printer and wireless router.
  • Configure the printer to connect the wireless router.

--Enable the DHCP option on the printer. Obtain the IP address automatically.
--Configure the DHCP server of wireless router. Again, assign the IP address automatically.
  • Verify connectivity. Try doing some test prints. If it doesn't work, check the IP addresses.

Network Method:
  • Assign the printer to a wireless network. Go to "Start" and click on "Devices and Printers."
  • Click on "Add a printer".
  • Click on "Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer."
  • Select the wireless printer from the list. Click "Next."
  • Allow Windows to successfully connect the printer. Again, click "Next."
  • Click "Finish" to complete the process. If you have multiple printers on your network, set this one as the default. Verify the connection by clicking "Print a test page."

I have a belkin router set up in my home and I just purchased a 2nd laptop but I am unsure how to add this new laptp to the connector

If you router is already set up and you want to add a new computer, you don't need to run the set up CD for the router again.
If you want to add a new wireless device ( laptop or any other wireless device) to the network, then you should know all the wireless settings of the router. What wireless settings do you need to know ?
You should know the wireless network name ( SSID ), wireless channel and the wireless security password
( network key ). Once you get all the wireless settings of the router , you will need to connect to the wireless network on the computer. when you try to connect to the network , you will see your wireless network in the list. You just need to select your network and connect to it. If it is secured then you will need to enter the network key and you will be able to go online.
To check the wireless settings of the router , you will need to access the router set up page. On the set up page you will find all the wireless settings of the router.

Won't recognise wireless router

It appears the wireless card in the computer hasn't been correctly configured with the wireless router's settings.

To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router’s wireless settings configured and also needs the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers to be configured with the router’s wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.

To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.

How do i use my wireless internet card on my ps3 new version? do i need a usb cord?

Just configure the wireless setting in the PS3 with the wireless router's settings Eg. the wireless router's SSID and encryption etc.
If you don't remember the wireless router's settings then open IE browser and enter the router's IP configuration address and go to the wireless settings.
Use these settings and go into the PS3 wireless configuration and enter the router's wireless settings.
The PS3 will now connect to the wireless router.

How do I install linksys router

Hi there, and welcome to FixYa
Connect the pc with a cable to any of the four LAN connections on the back of the router.
DO SET THE ADMIN password as the first thing you do.
goto -> administration -> management, fill out the router password and reenter it to confirm.
Give your network a name (SSID) so that you can find yours if there is more around you. Network name are called SSID, short for service set identifier
goto -> wireless -> basic wireless settingsWireless Network Mode : set to mixed,
Wireless Network Name (SSID), set a name well known to you, NOT your address :-)
now set the  Wireless Channel :  to any other than channel 6, which is the one everybody use. Too much electrical noise might interfere with your transmitting.
Now, go to Wireless -> Wireless connection, to set the Encryption security settings.
Set security mode to WEP,
Set the Transmit key to your choice, if you know that you wireless card has 4 keys as well, I would use key 4.
Set WEP encryption to: 128 bit 26 hex digits.
Go down to key 4, and find combination of numbers and the letters a, b, c, d, e or f.
(ex. 414243444546474849404a4b4c) = 26 hex digits.
Save settings.
Now, before you leave, WRITE DOWN your SSID, your password and key 4 with your settings, as you need to set your wireless card with the same settings.
Start -> settings -> network and right click your wireless connection and click properties.
At the top, choose Wireless network, find your network, (your SSID) choose properties and set these settings as you wrote down from the router.
Now, remove the cable and logon wireless.

/Teis
