Where can I buy a digital kitchen scale that is not wall mounted, but I can hang it to store when I am not using it?

try your local hardware store, use a pencil as a guide to help size the bolt needed, you might need to buy a few different sizes, but make sure it's the right tread ! you can return the bolts not used, you need 4 bolts total and there mostly metric.and a certain length DO not use long bolts !
If hanging the mount on the wall, once again ask your local hardware store guy for assistance, these tv's are heavy and need to be mounted properly, and can kill if they fall. so do it right !

Is it possible you put the batteries in the wrong way? Sometimes a device will still have power in that situation, even though it won't work as expected. Try a new set of batteries, but clean the contacts in the battery compartment first, and double-check the battery orientation.

You need to know what the wall is made of - brick, block, concrete, plaster board, etc? Then go to a DIY store and ask - they'll advise you. If its an internal plaster-board wall then I doubt it will be strong enough. A while ago I hung a 4' x 3'6" mirror on a block wall using two fairly heavy duty rawl bolts and its still hanging.

You have the choice to get a standard mount that can only swing or a mount that can swing and tilt or even extend. Plasma TVs are a bit heavier, than LCDs therefore, you need a solid mount. If you buy it from a local store and does not fit, you can take it back the next day, an option you wont have if you buy online.

There is no kit to make this conversion. That being said, you could get an estimate from a sheet metal fabrication shop on creating the conversion you are seeking.
