By replacing the Hard drive you have removed the recovery partition with the operating system on it.
Did you make a backup of the Operating system to a set of CD's or just the Data?
If it was just the data you need a new operating system through HP Tech Support. The instructions are here EmptyPortlet
Download Ccleaner by clicking here.
When the download completes run it and install with all the defaults.
After setup is complete run the program, it will automatically cleanup the hard drive and remove unneeded files.
Hello, Yes, in fact you will most likely be able to get an upgrade as most HPs have a 5400 RPM hard drive and you can find great 7200rpm SATA hard drives.
There are also 10000rpm drives available but at this point they aren't worth the price in my professional opinion.
Hi, First of all try to manually eject the tray, look very close at the CD/DVD near the eject button, there should be a very small hole next to it. If you straighten a large paperclip and push it in that hole you will be able to eject the tray and remove the mini disk. If you can't eject the tray you will have to remove the CD/DVD itself. Now you say its a slimline? that usually means its in a laptop not a desktop. Am i correct in my assumption?
The on-board RadeonXpress 200M graphics is a dog. It offloads a lot of work to your cpu, and shares system memory which ties up the bus and detracts from the memory available to the OS.
The s7520 suffers from thermal problems due to it's size and poor ventilation. It also has a very limted power supply. Therefore, your choices are also limited. If you could score Radeon X600 or X1300 with 128MB for cheap somewhere it would be a worthwhile upgrade. It does need to be PCI (not PCI-E) and half-height (low profile).
