Yes; your set was built only with an NTSC tuner that will be obsolete in the near future. I have surveyed as well as possible and procured Zinwell ZAT-970 converters for our back-up sets.  (The new pretty ones will break fairly soon according to what I find here - keep your old set dry if you buy a new flat panel - you'll need it again.)
If you have no manual for your set, you can download one here:

In our new digital world ... can a Durabrand model DU1901A function without a converter box?

Hi.
Unfortunately, your tv is NOT digital ready, so if you want to watch anything, you will need a digital convertre box to get any channels, otherwise it's only good as a screen to hook up dvd's and video games to it.
Sorry about that, but this new fangled electronic age we live in has made probably 250,000,000 tv's useless without some sort of converter device.

I hope this helps you out.

If you do go to get a converter box, I would just go with one of the inexpensive ones from Wal-Mart.

Rca and Magnavox have boxes for around 30-40 dollars.

Good luck to you, and have a good day.

WHERE DO YOU CONNECT A DIGITAL CONVERTER TO THE 13" DURABRAND TV?

Connect converter cable to the antenna inputs. If you need help identifying them, here is a link to the owners manual that identifies all the hook ups.

Is my tv digital ready?

If you receive TV from either cable or satelite, you are fine. If you use rabbit ears or a rooftop antenna, you will need a converter box after Feb 17th.

Cannot get DTV Converter Box to work on my Durabrand DWT 1905 19"

The converter must have an "analog pass-through" feature to view existing stations until the changeover. Not all of the 'approved' boxes had the feature and you didn't include the model number so we could check for you.
If you were dependent on an outdoor antenna, you will still need it for the (any) converter box.

Don't understand about digital and analog

Hi, The TV has an analog tuner only and so is not DTV ready. You will require a seperate set top box to receive digital programs with it. If you have brought the set recently it should have had an appropriate warning label on it. If not ,you may have some come back with the store which sold it.(depends on the country where purchased)

Durabrand tv, model BH2404D. Would like to know if digital ready

All information I found indicated that this is an NTSC receiver and will require a converter box to receive the coming digital broadcast signals. If you have cable or satellite, the drop-dead date is later and up to the provider.
