IBM-branded Thinkpad T60 laptops from Lenovo are mobile computing devices that feature a keyboard lock for data security. When the lock is enabled, pressing the keys on the keyboard does not result in input to the computer. The lock hampers attempts by an unauthorized user from gaining access to your computer and your files. Lock your Thinkpad using the Function key. The Function key used in conjunction with other keys on the keyboard expand the laptop's number of available features.
Locate the "Fn" key in the lower left corner of your Thinkpad keyboard. Locate the "F2" key in the upper left area of the keyboard. Press and hold the "Fn" key, then press the "F2" key to toggle the "Lock" feature. Release both keys. Hope this helps.

Ibm's are very difficult, when it comes to problems with the security chip. This chip's purpose is mainly for bios passwords. If you've never set a bios password then it should not take you to the security chip window. Since it is, I'm going to say the chip is malfunctioning. For this, you will need to contact IBM support.

IF it is a BIOS password ,Try taking out the battery and shorting the BIOS terminals then reinstallign the battery or leave it out long enought for the capasitors and memory chips to loose their charge. Reinstall the battery and then memory of the pasword wil be no more. BIOS Brainwashing.

Hi, If you are talking about the Boot, HDD, Bios password, then the only one way to recover it is to implement a chip on the systemboard to shorcut the protection or to contact Lenovo for a systemboard replacement. Unfortunalty, no other ways other round. Thanks and have a nice day J-
