Yesterday, when I went out doors to take a picture, both the viewfinder and the LCD screen looked almost all pink and the little hand was visible on the screen. Coming inside seems to make the problem less severe, but the pink was still very visible everywhere and so was the hand. When I set the flash inside, the hand went away and the pink seemed a little less predominant. When I took a flash picture inside it still came out pretty pink, but my wife was able to reduce the pink using photoshop.

iFixitMay 4, 2015 - When I look through the viewfinder or at the lcd it is blank / black. Also when I take a picture and view it on my computer, the picture is blank ...
Dec 8, 2015 - There is no picture or a black screen appears in the viewfinder or LCDwhen attempting to ... Look to see if an image can be seen in the viewfinder or LCD. IMPORTANT: Some camcorders have both a viewfinder and LCD.
Look at the downloaded images recorded by the camera, if they are okay the fault lies in the LCD and ofteen the system board chip that tranlates a recorded image onto your LCD.
sounds like the LCD screen viewfinder may have been twisted or accidentally catched or got hooked or snagged on on something at one stage and pulled something, if the screen went yellow it means the three wires going to it are possibly broken or the small white clip was slowly coming undone inside the Viewfinder for the red and green to no longer work to complete the image also indicates why the buttons on the viewfinder are not responding, try twisting the viewfinder very lightly whilst on, but most likely the small white clip holding the wires has come off at the elbow inside the camera
Failing CCD- if less than a year old return to vendor.
If more than a year old contact Canon
This may be eligible for free replacement- due to a faulty batch of chips that were in circulation used my many makers,
the electronic viewfinder on almost all digital cameras if even they got one is a tiny resolution screen or a mirror reflecting the bigger or smaller lcd screen. switch to your Lcd screen and see if colors are ok or still pink, also look at pictures you have taken. if ok the problem soly lies on the viewfinder which I have many cameras like it and come to think of it they looked aliittle pink too. the view finder helps you only in sunny conditions that you cant see your regular Lcd screen. and should be able to give you a good idea of what you are shooting.
pink in real digital colors means you lost some green . look through your menu and see if there is an adjustment for it if not and you cant live with it return for exchange.
I looked up the specs and would love this camera.
good luck
