Transfering Video Clips

Hi I've had this problem with two Panasonics Lumix so far (FZ-7 and FX-9) - I'm guessing this is a Panasonic firmware / iPhoto incompatibility. The only solution I've found is to manually copy the movies from the camera to to your Mac and then drag n drop them into iPhoto. To do this: 1) Go to the Fnder desktop and open up the camera's hard-drive icon (probably called 'NO NAME' - nice!). 2) You should see a folder inside called 'DCIM' - double-click to open this 3) Inside this you will see at least one folder (though there maybe 2 or 3) called 102_PANA (or 103_PANA etc) 4) These folders are where the camera stores all your pictures and videos and (hopefully) will contain the actual movies that iPhoto neglected to fully import 5) Drag these onto your desktop (or a newly created folder on the desktop called 'Videos from camera' for example) and wait for them to copy fully 6) Now you can safely drag and drop the videos from the folder on your camera into the Mac's Wasterbasket 7) Import the copied movies into iPhoto (either by dragging and dropping or by the 'File --> Import to L:ibrary' menu command) 8) Once they have been imported, you can optionally delete these videos from the desktop now 9) Remember to repeat steps 3 to 8 for each folder you find in the 'NO NAME/DCIM' folder on the camera That's it - hope it works for you.
