Hey Richard the back panel does not look removeable it has some screws in the back just to hold the H20 line for the ice maker. Only at the very bottom does their appear to be a panel. The noise is coming from near the top by the ice maker. JJ

Is that where the fan is located? Sounds like you have ice buildup and the fan is rubbing against it.

Remove the back panel and see if there is ice buildup on the coils.

SOURCE: my samsung rs21dgrs is making very loud noise

Sounds like your Samsung RS21 has devoloped a known fault.
Your frdige will be cold in the drawers but not cold above this? Also there is ice around the pipe behind the drawers. it is the ice hitting the fan that is the noise and eventually stops the fan which pushes the cold air around the frdige.Samsung have extended their warranty to 5 years to cover for this.
You need to call the Samsung customer care team 0845 7267864 and should be repaired free of charge. - mine was. When you call, you need the full model number and serial number. my serial number was on the outside left hand side of the fridge. The engineer comes out within a day or 2.

SOURCE: noise (more detail)

I think I answered this in an earlier post.

The noise is the fan banging against the motor housing. It's not a defective motor, it's a poorly designed motor.

The solution is to shim the motor mount so it is slightly out of level which will keep the fan from bouncing off the motor housing.

The reason Samsung won't service is they don't understand the problem. I've seen this a half-dozen times.

Trust me -- SHIM THE MOTOR MOUNT!

SOURCE: My samsung rs2630sh is very very hot to the touch

The fan you should replace is called the condenser fan. It's the one that blows air across the outside coils. When it fails, you'll usually notice abnormal heating of the front of the divider between freezer and fridge.

SOURCE: Hot refrigerator

Same problem here with the Samsung RS2630SH refrigerator. First had intermittent fan noise, followed by constant squealing fan noise followed by total fan failure and fridge walls getting very hot. Ordered parts # DA97-01949A (fan motor) and DA31-00010C (fan blade) from partstore.com. The fan unit actually slides out. Slide the fan unit (the white plastic cowling and all) forward (toward the doors) and then lift it out. Taking the back panel off and aiming a fan at the condenser does seem to sufficiently cool the fridge - at least it did for me - until the parts arrive. Good luck to all and don't by Samsung again. I know I won't.

The fan is making a weird noise and when i open the door it stops but when it stops in makes a loud noise and the temp on the fridge wont stay down but the freezer is fine what is the problem

You have a twin cooling unit and the refrigerator fan is getting clogged up with ice possibly due to a defrost problem. You will need to remove the back wall panel of the refrigerator to access the evaporator fan motor and clean it out of the excess ice buildup. Check the defrost circuits and also the defrost drain to make sure it's clear.

It is making a buzzing noise on freezer side that stops when u open the door but starts again when u close it

On some models of refrigerators, the evaporator fan (behind an access panel at the top of the freezer) shuts off when the door is opened. This fan may be making the buzzing sound.

You should be able to check by pushing in the door switch while holding the door open. The fan should come on; and, if the buzzing resumes, you know what is making the noise. The fan may be developing a problem. If it stops running, the cold air will not be distributed properly between the freezer and refrigerator.

Loud noise from the freezer side

The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.

Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).

Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.

Loud humming noise as fridge is running

Sounds like the freezer fan is rubbing some wires or possible some foam insulation around the fan. I would look into the freezer compartment fan and go from there. The fan Will Shut off when you open the doors. Let me know how you make out and if you need anymore help.

Thanks,
Bill
