Hey, my husband just fixed it! You just wiggle/bend the zoom lens, and you feel a "pop", and then the zoom retracts and you're fine! I was afraid to "break" it, but someone on vacation had the same problem and told him this solution a few weeks ago. So don't be afraid to use a little force-at least, in our case, it worked! Good luck.

My samsung pl20 camera was dropped and it say the zoom did not operate normally

Pull gently back and forth on the lens while in outward position. Do this several times until you hear a click. This will put the lens back in place and should go in and out afterwards with no problems. The lens was knocked out of alignment when dropped and do the above will put it back into alignment.

My camera been dropped and now it has a zoom error and wont close the lens back it stuck in one place - how much it will cost me to repair it? is it expensive?

To repair this model of camera requires a complete strip down to get at the lens unit. Lots of carefull desoldering etc.
The lens unit is just a larger version of a compact camera lens unit. Lots of gear gogs to release before you can un jam the lens its self.
Price will depend on where you take it and what damage has been sustained

Zoomlens stuck

Examine the lens carefully. you will see that the outer lens is out of line with the inner lens. . hold the camera firmly with one hand using the fingers of the second hand firmly nudge the outer lens back in line. reinsert battery and test.
Good luck,

Zoom error, Fujifilm J150w

I just pulled apart the camera, everything inside was intact. No cogs broken. couldnt find anything to fix (not a camera expert by the way).

In desperation even put some WD40 on the lens barrel - still no luck.

Camera turns on - barrel is stuck out. Wont zoom, wont go back in and wont take a photo.

Daughter's camera and she says she didnt drop it but just saw it on her desk with the lens out...

Would be good if someone could shed some light on the problem.

Jammed digital zoom lens

For whatever reason, the lens has failed. This can be caused by many things: the lens motor has failed or is stuck, the gears involved in driving the lens have jammed, or, as pointed out previously, the lens itself, a series of tubes which fit into one another has become stuck. You can try GENTLY pressing down on the lens when you first power the camera to see if you can free up the stuck lens. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you are going to have to get the camera serviced.
The clicking sound you're hearing is the lens trying to move itself. Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be fixed by pushing on the lens. You are going to have to get the camera serviced. Sorry!

Zoom error

worked on allot of fuji's. first detease, a gear is slipping in the lens retract assembly due to a crack or wear or jam

2nd guest .. zoom errors means its really stuck tight

the gears can be ordered and replaced and one more possibility is that the motor that drives the gear is bad
Also if dropped or zoom lens jammed hard... lens assembly needs total realignment or replacing..

Zoom error

I'm not sure if this will work as I have yet to try this for my self. But according to others who have had this problem pulling lens out while camera is off and then restarting camera works. If this does work please notify. Or just tell me what happens when this is done

Zoom Lens

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension.

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but they're still worth a try:
