Flat Panel Emerson Tv lc32oem82s

Hi my name is Biz, I saw a tech. solution on fixya.com about replacing the bad transformers to fix the power on problem for the Emerson TV LC32OEM82s. Can you help me out if you know the answer's to my question's? The part number given LTZ2PCOMS008 for model LC32OEM82S, would this be the same part number for my TV LC32OEM82? My second question is, can you give me some step by step instruction's on how to locate, test and replace the transformers? I'm a mechanically inclined girl-I understand about electrical currents, and would like to try and fix my TV before taking it somewhere to get repaired. Any help you can give me I would be so thankful for.

I too am looking for a "how to" regarding the rampant Emerson LCD TV issues. Mine is a 37" model #EWL3706A Mine actually survived exactly 2 years of HEAVY use before dying on me today with the oh so common non power on issue.
The Emerson site shows no repair centers anywhere near me. With the proper guidance I can repair it I believe.
Thanks for any help. I want to try to fix it before I throw it in the trash along with the $770 I paid for it(which was a heck of a deal at the time:(

I have a LCD Color TV, but when turn on, green

The most common problem is the Power/Backlight Inverter Board. There are 6 mini transformers on the board, one goes bad and the TV will turn itself OFF automatically for " Protection Mode". Replace the whole board or replace the bad mini transformer.

Part number#
Whole board, BA71F0F01042

I have a sylvania 32In tv that uses the 3pc0xb001 transformer. When I replaced the transformer it to burnt out then I found a bad mov transistor and was wondering if this would take out the transformer.

normaly when is the compatible transformer, dont take out, but you must have changed to universal transformer, and use the wrong power settings, and burnout tv and transformer also.

My 32 inch emerson powers up and cuts off after a few seconds.

Hi, I own the same TV and had the same problem. It's the #1 plaguing issue with flat panel TVs made by Funai corp. Emerson is made by them. Normally, when this happens, the TV goes into " Protection Mode " because of a failing circuit board.

The most common thing to go out on flat panel TV is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptom. I'm willing to bet you have the same problem like mine. One of six Inverter Transformers when bad on my Power/Backlight Inverter Supply Board. I replaced it and it works fine again. d66cb18.jpg

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 minutes so the TV can reset itself.

2. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual at Tvtechcenter.com:
http://www.tvtechcenter.com/xcart/search.php?mode=search&page=1 It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $6. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

3. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

My flat screen tv does not have a picture or sound. The stand by red button is on once we press the power button the picture will come on with a message that reads digital television for about a second or...

I've had the same problem with a 32" model LC320EM82S. All the Emerson TV ( no matter what size ) are having the same issue.
I'm sure with your TV, the green light is blinking before the TV automatically turns OFF. Basically, the TV is trying to power up the screen and has failed. Protection mode turns the TV OFF to prevent other parts from being damaged inside.
My solution for fixing my TV was replacing one bad inverter transformer of six on the Backlight Inverter/Power Board. Here is what my board looks like: 767c946.jpg
You can see the six inverter transformer on the bottom of the board. It's what supplies power to the screen. Your board may look similar. You can sometimes find a whole replacement board over the internet for a good price. Shopjimmy.com is a good place to start. Just start searching by your TV model number.
If you have some electronic experience, you can repair the board itself by finding a Service Manual over the internet for less than $20. It will have all the part numbers, schematics, and diagrams you need. I would investigate the inverter transformer for your problem.
I hope I helped you out with your problem.

It being emerson 32" hdtv lcd turns on but immediately turns off

This is Emerson's #1 problem.
The Inverter Transformer on the power supply/backlight inverter board goes bad. It's what powers up the screen for your TV. When the part goes bad, it doesn't have enough juice to power the screen and the TV automatically turns off. You have 5 Inverter Transformer on your board.
You can fix the problem by replacing the whole board or replace the bad Inverter Transformer.
Here's where you can get a new board for a good price:

Or, here's where you can get replacement Inverter Transformers:

Try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 mins so the TV can reset itself.
If that doesn't work, most cases with the Emerson TV, the Inverter Transformer goes bad on the backlight Inverter Board. It's what powers the screen for your TV. If it can't power up the screen, it automatically shuts off. Basically, they call this "Protection Mode" with this happens.

You can get a replacement backlight inverter board at this web site link:
http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=ewl3706+inverter&p=1&stock=all

Just make sure the board number matches your board.

If it fixes the problem and you decide to throw your old board in the trash, I would like to keep the damaged board if possible. I want to do some research on the board to find out what really causes the transformers to go bad. Here's my e-mail [email protected]

WHERE To BUY power boards for emerson 32" FS TV

I had the same problem. Mine gave out in 4 months. Those boards are hard to find right now. Google the the board# BA71FOFO1042 and someone like (buyjimmy.com) I think will sell TV parts. If not, you can fix the board itself like I did. Mine was a bad inverter transformer. If you need the parts# for anything let me know, I have the Service Manual for the TV. Good Luck

Emerson Tv lc32oem82s

I would assume you could go into any tv repair shop and order them the part number is LTZ2PCOMS008. To find out which one is bad you will need to check them with a meter the reading should be beyween 300-600 ohms reading between the last two contacts, closest to the edge of the board, on each side of the transformers. Once you take the back off of the set and take the board off flip it over.As I said Ihave never had to buy them so if you can't find them write back and I will send you a couple. My email is cfharold @yahoo.com
Let me know if this helps.
