Ice will most likely form again.you have a defrost problem.most likely it is your defrost heater.their are a few things that control your defrost cycle.defrost timer, thermostat and defrost heater.most of your newer ref. will also have a control board on the back of ref. or under ref in a usually grey box.but check your heaters first.you will need to take the back panel off in freezer.you will see heater at the bottom of coils.if you have a set of meters you can check for continuity to heater.also your drain below heater sounds clogged.i usually steam out drain but you can use hot water.water should go down drainwhen unclogged.that will prevent the drawer from sticking.

*** The following is for information only.***
* Original question was slow ice making or melted ice;:
* Most common is ice build up in freezer coils. This happens every time the door is opened. Ice builds up on coils but is normally removed during a daily defrost cycle.
* The cycle may be unable to defrost all ice due to bad air circulation. Usually caused by rubbish blocking fan intake (bottom of freezer tray or wall.) Overloading food may cover the intake.
* Remove all food from freezer. Check for fan blockage. There should be a steady flow of cold air. If not then your freezer needs to be defrosted.
* Defrost by moving all frozen food to fridge side or cooler. Unplug fridge and open freezer door (drawer). Allow room air to circulate into the freezer. Use a house fan to blow air into freezer. (DO NOT use Hair dryer! It will damage panels.)
* Check and remove melted ice water. Check inner panels of freezer. Once defrosted the panels will be room temperature to the touch. There should not be any condensation or coldness to the panel. If it's still cold then keep defrosting.
* Once the water stops dripping. then close freezer doors.
* plug in freezer and wait 5 mins. Check freezer if inside is cold and the air is blowing cold. Reload freezer with food, take care not to overload or cover fan intake. Monitor for 2 days.

Samsung rf 197acwp 18cf french door with bottom freezer drawer. Ice maker fell out of it's housing. I can't get the bins out to even look at it. HELP!

On my model RF265AABP there are two plastic clips near the back of the drawer that attach it to the slides. Pop those out, and the drawer can be lifted out.

Sub zero freezer drawer frozen shut

Subzero freezer: We had all our drawers stuck, including the ice drawer. We turned off the refrigerator, took all the drawers out and defrosted the rails with a hair dryer. The ice drawer was misaligned, so we reset the allen screws on the left to be the correct width. All better!

My freezer has produced too much ice and now the door won't close and food is stuck in each drawer!

TURN IT OF AT WALL FOR ABOUT FOUR HOURS THEN GENTLY RUN A HAIRDRYER AROUND DOOR SEALS. ONCE U GET IT OPEN USE HAIRDRYER AROUND EDGE OF BASKETS TO FREE THEM UP.

Exactly the same.

The hose that carries the water from the top coil to the evaporator pan is plugged with ice. You need to leave your unit unplugged for a long time so the ice in the drain hose can melt. If you restart it too soon the problem will not be solved.

Whirlpool refrigerator w/ top freeezer

It has a plugged defrost drain. You may need to defrost for 24 hours with unit unplugged and doors open. UNPLUG FIRST!! f still leaks, you need to remove floor of freezer, then the back wall of freezer. Remove ice. At center rear under coils is the drain hole that is plugged up. Use hair dryer to melt ice. Pour hot water in this area to uncover drain. With hot water in area, you can put a 1/4 diam. hose or copper pipe in drain and blow into it while pressing down. It will slowly go through ice, clearing drain.
