Those sensor bars can become faulty and that is probably the problem. Try cleaning them off with a clean rag. Good Luck!

Oh brother. These dryers have 2 belts. The small belt that drives the pulley is probably off the motor. The pulley tends to come loose and fall off. The manufacturer recommends lock-tite on the nut that holds that pulley. REPAIR PHOTO

Take the rear cover off and the heater is a shorty mounted on the right hand side. See page 61

It clearly says "power on" not turn or start. There's no power!!!

People, the first words the poster said were that the dryer was "brand new". All of your suggestions assume the dryer had extensive use. This sounds like a factory defect issue!!!! My brand new Maytag Cabrio gas dryer is also making an obnoxious buzzing sound that seems to cycle on and off as the gas ignites. The buzzing sounds electronic not mechanical. What would buzz when the burner is active?

Hold down the heated-dry button for 3 seconds and the light will clear.

I also had a similar problem with my maytag dryer which is 3 1/2 years old. It was the idler lever assembly with pulley. The part number is 11222607JG and the cost is about $20.00. Hope this helps.

Maytag Bravos 400 Series Dryer purchased August 2009 - November 2009 required repair as I also experience the timer readjusting itself to excessive extended drying time when clothing was bone dry and hot. Sometimes extended to 1 hour 40 minutes! Serviceman stated problem was the Sensors in the dryer. Part number 8577274 Thermister and "Old Ohmed out open" whatever that means as listed on my repair ticket. Have not had that particular problem since. Make sure your dryer vents from dryer to outside are clean and clear of lint. Will help immensely. I have many other issues with this dryer it has been down FOUR times in 9 months. Fighting with Maytag to replace this lemon!
