Type the recovery password into the "Password" text box and then click "OK". Click "Next" To start the recovery process. Click "Finish" and then wait for your computer to restart. This procedure could take several minutes. Once your computer has restarted, you'll be prompted to create a new user account, enter the date and time and set up the internet settings.
or if you are running XP If you set your machine back to eMachines factory settings, it might help you for a short while but if you don't have effective virus protection your problems will return in short order.

You should get rid of this virus with an effective virus remover.

You can run Bitdefender's free online scan which doesn't need to be downloaded http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

If you know when you got the virus, you can do a system restore to a time before the virus was on your system.
This article tells you how to run it from safe mode http://bertk.mvps.org/html/safemode.html

Your best protection in general is a complete internet security suite such as Bitdefender or Norton internet security 2009.

More information here http://www.ask-the-computer-doc.com/comp...

If you need to totally rebuild your system and you don't have a recovery disk, contact eMachines to get one.

You might also try a Windows repair install if you have the operating system disk. Follow the directions here for XP http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepa... Source(s): http://www.ask-the-computer-doc.com/comp... Hope this helps.

Restore my hp computer to original factory settings

Hi garygarame...
I would try to restore the computer to a time when it was working good.
Try this solution...
Left click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
Pick a date when the computer was working good
Otherwise you need to format your computer( you will lose everything)
Double Left click on "My Computer". right click on the main drive (normally C drive) and click on "format"...that will clear the computer of everything.
Then reinsert your recovery CD and reinstall your operating system.

I want to reboot my dell 1505 inspiron laptop to factory specs. Please help.

Note: restoring your computer to its original factory settings will clear most of the data off of your hard drive, including personal files. Be sure to back up what you need.

Some computers ship without a system restore, but your computer more than likely has it.
To restore your computer to its original state, do the following:
- Make sure your computer is powered off.
- Turn on your computer, and hold the 'Ctrl' key and the 'F11' key at the same time
- When the menu appears, select 'restore'
- If your computer does not have system restore, you will not be able to / not see restore
- Confirm that you wish to restore your computer
- Your system will be reset to its original state
- When finished, select 'finish' to reboot the computer

You will have to go though some of the menus that you did when you originally had your computer. Your computer should finish restoring after these menus.

Ibm restore to factory setting

You have not explained what is wrong with your computer.
Is the laptop working, does it boot up into Windows?
What are you trying to restore?
Are you trying to get into a previous Restore Point?
The Access button takes you into the BIOS, you can change the BIOS settings back to the Default settings (ie the factory default settings).
It is difficult to offer a solution without knowing the exact nature of the problem.
