My monitor is showing lines - LG L1730S 17" LCD Monitor

Apparently it is a display hardware problem. Try another monitor with the same cable and video card. Then you should try another cable. Then another video card. If vertical line doesn't show in either case, then you should replace the appropriate device\cable. If it shows anyway, then bring your monitor to service center for diagnosis.

Try this: see if you can find an external monitor, use a VGA cable to hook to monitor...tell me if the lines are still showing on the external monitor...

There should be buttons on the monitor that will help you with menu issues if you don;t have a remote for it.
You also might want to Google the correct monitor,, as the one that you posted does not exist.

That happens only when there are loose connections and/or a problem like you dropped the PC or hit it hard. It MAY be because of moisture.

I guess you need to show it to an authorised HP doctor.

theres a adjustment on flyback they have two adjustment screen.if you made an anjustment turn off the monitor the adjustment anti clockwise little bit.

Sounds like your LCD panel has gone bad.

If the unit is under warranty, take it to a Samsung repair shop. If it is not under warranty, go buy a new one. LCD panels are usually more expensive then buying a whole new monitor.

1. I turn on the monitor, I hear a 'cracklin' sound
Reply: In a CRT Monitor there is a component called EHT which generates High voltage which is connected to the anode of the CRT, If there is any leakage due to moisture can cause this crackiling sound, You need to clean this high tension wire or replace the EHT ( CAUTION : BE AWARE OF HIGH VOLTAGES )

2. The screen only shows a bright, thin line.
Reply: The vertical Drive section of the monitor is faulty.

try to reset the monitor to its default settings.
