Do an internet search for lg power supply for LG37H30 replace the entire power supply! (because the damage may have caused other bad coponents do to that one ic exploding avoid a headache replace the entire power supply and start watching TV again.
That is what I figured I may have to do. I was consulting with an Electrical Engineer I work with and we were hoping that this might be a common enough failure that there might be a known solution that might involve replacing a few parts and not the entire board, like all the cap replacements I have seen.
most of the time if your problem with a power results in an IC blowing your are past the just replacing caps in my 29 yrs television repair experience.
Works for me, thats why I am here asking for help. New board it is.

thats fine but you could find the power supply pretty cheap on ebay or go to www.shopjimmy.com when you get ready to fix it .
if the IC exploded you most likey will have other issues even if you find a replacement IC if it had just been a blown capacitor I would agree with you trying to fix the supply but when ic chip are blown the supply is most likely toast it will save you time and money by just buying a new power supply off ebay or the www.shopjimmy.com site I mentioned earlier I been at this a long time and never saw an ic chip blow and that was all that needed to be replaced.r
